Job description In the Delivery Management profession, we are passionate about our teams, and supportive of our colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity to join HMRC's CDIO Borders and Trade working in the Borders and Excise Delivery Team. You'll work across CDIO B&T, wider CDIO teams, and external delivery partners to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of digital products. This includes managing stakeholder relationships, leveraging supplier frameworks, and adapting delivery methodologies to suit project needs. You'll define delivery roadmaps, manage risks and dependencies, and align delivery backlogs with strategic priorities. Drawing on your technical expertise and experience with third-party management, you'll champion continuous improvement and delivery excellence. Person specification As an IT Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for: • The end-to-end delivery of one or more medium to large scale IT projects., • Production and management of end-to-end IT delivery plans and status reports., • Identification, management and escalation of IT risks, issues and dependencies., • Raising, monitoring and challenging commercials / costs across all delivery teams and commercially engaged delivery partners., • Financial forecasting and tracking of all project expenditure., • Building and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships in order to achieve successful outcomes for the business., • Applying your experience / understanding of both Agile and waterfall delivery methodologies in a Delivery Management setting., • Line management of Associate IT Delivery Managers., • Removing blockers for successful delivery., • Coaching team members, CDIO and HMRC stakeholders in Agile or Delivery Management., • Being an active member of the Delivery Manager community., • Using variety of team forming, norming and storming techniques to build self-sufficient and empowered teams., • Creating a team environment that fosters success and self-organisation., • Delivering medium to large scale technical or IT enabled business change projects against a backdrop of large-scale organisational change., • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across a wide range of stakeholders., • Operating effectively within complex and tightly controlled governance environments, with a strong understanding of risk, cost, and dependency management., • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders facilitating collaboration in order to achieve successful outcomes for the business., • Project Governance including creating and managing a project plan and tracking risks / issues / dependencies.
