Bristol Water are looking to recruit a Technical Clerk to join our Water Quality team on a part-time, permanent basis, working 21 hours across Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you enjoy providing administrative support to a dynamic and essential team, then this role could be for you... What You Will Be Doing: Reporting to the Data Management Scientist, you will be registering water samples on the database and preparing samples for dispatch to the Laboratory for testing. This role includes a mix of physical manual handling and desk-based administration, and you will also be responsible for maintaining bottle stocks and housekeeping activities, as well as undertaking various monitoring tasks within the department. Registering and receiving samples whilst verifying sample suitability and checking sample details. Identifying anomalies and recording them on the Quality Action Record whilst working towards a solution. Ensure an accurate and traceable sample dispatch to specified deadlines. Maintain excellent standards of environmental hygiene via the scheduled housekeeping procedures. Electronic uploading of sample results as well as some manual data entry. Monitor and maintain stock levels in the bottle store. Maintain filing and archive systems. Carry out all work in accordance with the Water Quality Regulations, ISO17025, Drinking Water Testing Specification and Company procedures What We're Looking For: Confidence in working alone at weekends and out of hours. Able to undertake manual handling activities and be comfortable wearing PPE. Ability to organise and plan efficiently to meet deadlines. Able to follow strict procedures methodically and consistently. Accurately record data. Able to work both as part of a team as well as with little or no supervision. Previous experience of working within a regulatory environment would be advantageous. What's In It for You?
