You’ll support them both within the home and, where appropriate, within the educational setting. Key responsibilities include: • Providing high-quality care that meets each young person’s physical, emotional, social and cultural needs, • Building safe, positive and nurturing relationships, • Supporting young people with communication, daily routines and personal development, • Acting as a key worker or co-worker, ensuring care plans are followed and updated, • Assisting with practical daily tasks (e.g., cooking, cleaning, maintaining a homely environment), • Supporting young people with education, extracurricular activities and community engagement, • Ensuring safeguarding, risk assessment and professional standards are upheld, • Keeping accurate records and contributing to planning meetings and reviews, • Working collaboratively with families, social workers, teachers and external professionals Knowledge: • Understanding of autism, learning disabilities or special educational needs, • Awareness of safeguarding and child/adult protection procedures, • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, • Ability to work reliably across varying shifts, including nights and weekends, • Strong literacy skills and ability to produce accurate written reports, • Ability to manage time, follow procedures and uphold high standards of care, • Experience supporting children/young people with autism is desirable If you’re passionate about helping children and young people thrive, and you want to be part of a supportive team creating something truly special, we’d love to hear from you.
