SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Secondary School Location: South Birmingham Salary: £100-£110/day dependent on experience Contract Type: Full-time / Term-time only Start Date: As soon as possible About the Role Colmore Education is working in partnership with a well-established mainstream secondary school to recruit an experienced and committed SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment. Please note: Previous experience supporting students in a mainstream secondary school is essential for this role. Applications without this experience will not be considered. Key Responsibilities • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEN needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties), • Support students in accessing the secondary curriculum across a range of subjects, • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities, • Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies, • Promote positive behaviour and support students with emotional regulation, • Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals Requirements • Essential: Proven experience working within a mainstream secondary school setting, • Experience supporting young people with SEN, • Strong behaviour management skills and resilience, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, • A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach, • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) are desirable What Colmore Education Offers • Competitive rates of pay, paid weekly, • Access to long-term and permanent opportunities in local schools, • Ongoing CPD and training opportunities, • A dedicated consultant providing ongoing support and guidance, • Streamlined registration process About Colmore Education Colmore Education is a trusted education recruitment agency specialising in placing high-quality teaching and support staff into schools across the UK.
