Every day, 86,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars. \n\nWe’ll look to you for: \n\nDeveloping design solutions that meet the structural requirements of the carbody or vehicle equipment. \n\nFinite Element (FE) model setup, conducting the analysis, evaluating the results, modifying designs and writing the reports. \n\nDeriving load cases for the carbody and for different interior or underframe components. \n\nPlanning structural calculation activities considering applicable standards, processes and specific customer requirements. \n\nGeneral Mechanical Engineering design and problem solving. \n\nEvaluating supplier calculations & test results. \n\nCommunicating the progress and results to the Project teams. \n\nWriting specifications & presiding over test programmes. \n\nWork within allocated budget & schedule whilst maintaining the required quality of deliverables. \n\nManaging work undertaken by other sites and sub-contractors. \n\nAll about you \n\nWe value passion and attitude over experience. As a Structural Integrity Discipline Lead Engineer, you’ll be working on both developing state of the art products and the assessment of existing designs. \n\nYou'll undertake structural assessments (using both manual and Finite Element methods) on rail vehicle carbodies, interior and underframe equipment.
