Complex Needs Teaching Assistant - Leeds \n\nPosition: Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs / PMLD)\n\nLocation: Leeds, West Yorkshire\n\nContract Type: Full-Time (Term-time)\n\nWorking Hours: 08:30 - 15:30\n\nRate of Pay: £95.00 - £110.00 per day\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nAre you passionate, compassionate, and patient, with a desire to make a difference in the lives of students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs? We are working with a fantastic, inclusive specialist provision in Leeds that supports pupils with a range of complex physical, sensory, medical, communication, and learning needs. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to help pupils access education in a safe, calm, and nurturing environment, promoting their dignity, wellbeing, and inclusion. You will work closely with a dedicated team to support the students' development, learning, and personal care.\n\nAs a Teaching Assistant, you will:\n\nProvide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs.\nAssist with personal care, feeding, hygiene, and mobility, including moving and handling (training provided).\nSupport sensory-based learning and communication, using tools such as Makaton, PECS, or other communication systems.\nWork with teachers, therapists, and care staff to implement Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).\nCreate a calm, supportive, and structured environment that encourages engagement, comfort, and emotional wellbeing. \n\nWhat We're Looking For:\n\nExperience supporting children or young people with PMLD, complex needs, SEND, or within care or health settings (desirable).\nPatient, compassionate, and resilient approach, with an understanding of individualized support.\nWillingness to support personal care, medical routines, and physical needs.\nA commitment to safeguarding and promoting the dignity and wellbeing of vulnerable learners. \n\nTo be eligible for this role, you must:\n\nHold Right to Work in the UK.\nHold an enhanced child barred list DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one.\nProvide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years. \n\nWhy work with us?\n\nCompetitive daily rate based on experience.\nJoin a supportive, friendly team with excellent opportunities for professional development.\nMake a real difference in the lives of students with complex needs in a rewarding and fulfilling role. \n\nIf you're passionate about supporting students with PMLD and complex needs in Leeds, please apply with your up-to-date CV.
