You'll become part of a supportive team that values professionalism, collaboration, and customer focused service delivery.Your new roleAs a Housing Officer within lettings, you will play a key role in ensuring properties are let efficiently and tenants receive the guidance and support they need to sustain successful tenancies.A major focus of this role is managing tenancy sign-ups end-to-end ensuring applicants are fully informed, legally compliant, and supported as they begin their tenancy. You will also take responsibility for void property inspections, including pre-leave visits, mutual exchange checks and working closely with contractors to ensure properties meet required standards and are re-let as quickly as possible.Key responsibilities include: • Carrying out tenancy sign-ups, mutual exchange assignments, and mid-tenancy inspections in line with legislation and policy., • Completing thorough void property inspections, agreeing to any required remedial works, and case managing the void process to minimise turnaround time., • Advertising properties through a choice-based lettings system and engaging proactively with prospective tenants., • Managing a varied caseload including new tenants, voids, transfers, garages, and tenancy related enquiries., • Liaising with contractors, internal teams, and partner agencies to ensure safe, compliant, and well maintained homes., • Reporting repairs, health and safety issues, safeguarding concerns, and wider estate related matters., • Experience in a housing related role, ideally within lettings, tenancy management or a similar environment., • Strong practical experience in tenancy sign-ups and conducting void, pre-leave or mutual exchange inspections (essential emphasis)., • A solid understanding of social housing, tenant rights and responsibilities, and relevant legislation., • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work empathetically with diverse communities., • Strong organisational and case management skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload., • Confidence in working with contractors and partner agencies to resolve property related issues., • Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems., • Up to £23 per hour., • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities., • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to tenants and neighbourhoods., • A positive team culture where your ideas and contributions are valued.
