To better support our overall company and the anticipated doubling of our portfolio over the next few years, Westcore is looking for a skilled Senior Business Intelligence Analyst. POSITION SUMMARY: This role is responsible for architecting and implementing the company's next-generation business intelligence and data analytics platform. The position requires a seasoned analytics professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen to translate commercial real estate operations into data-driven insights. The successful candidate will lead the development of Microsoft Fabric/OneLake infrastructure, build scalable data pipelines integrating multiple CRE data sources, and create sophisticated reporting solutions that address the specific needs of asset management, leasing, and finance teams. This role demands someone who understands CRE business metrics - from NOI and occupancy rates to lease expirations and capital planning and can design analytics frameworks that drive strategic decision-making. As a forward-thinking technology advocate, this individual will establish robust data infrastructure supporting current BI needs while championing and preparing for future AI-enabled capabilities, including natural language data exploration. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of analytics experience, preferably in commercial real estate or related industries, with proven expertise in Power BI, SQL, Python, and enterprise data architecture. CORE ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design and maintain a centralized enterprise data platform (Microsoft Fabric/OneLake or equivalent) with scalable pipelines integrating key CRE systems such as Yardi, Argus, CoStar, and GreenStreet., • Develop unified data models and implement governance, quality, and documentation standards to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility., • Translate complex business requirements into analytical solutions by partnering with stakeholders across asset management, leasing, and finance to identify needs, define KPIs, and design reporting frameworks., • Build and maintain sophisticated Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions that deliver actionable insights aligned with CRE industry best practices and operational needs., • Create automated data workflows and reporting processes using Power Automate and Python scripting to improve efficiency and data reliability., • Champion AI and emerging technology adoption by staying current with industry trends, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance analytics capabilities, and positioning data architecture for future AI integration including natural language interaction., • Promote data literacy and adoption by training users, advancing BI tool utilization, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making. PRIMARY DUTIES: (The below list is not comprehensive, and priorities will change on a day to day basis) Data Infrastructure & Integration • Data Infrastructure & Integration, • Architect and implement Microsoft Fabric/OneLake (or similar) as our centralized data platform, • Build robust data pipelines and integrations from Yardi ERP (SQL Data warehouse), SharePoint (Excel/PDFs), Argus, CoStar, GreenStreet, Measurabl, and other CRE data sources, • Design comprehensive data models that normalize and contextualize information across disparate systems, • Establish data governance, quality controls, and documentation standards, • Implement data architecture that supports both current BI needs and future AI integration Business Intelligence & Reporting • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate requirements into analytical solutions, • Define and implement KPIs and metrics specific to CRE operations (NOI, occupancy, lease expirations, rent rolls, capital expenditures, tenant retention, portfolio performance, etc.), • Develop and maintain comprehensive Power BI dashboards for asset management, leasing, and financial reporting that align with industry best practices, • Design interactive visualizations and reports that transform complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels, • Create executive-level reporting packages and operational dashboards tailored to different user groups and business functions, • Build self-service analytics capabilities enabling users to explore data independently while maintaining governance, • Implement row-level security and access controls to ensure appropriate data visibility across the organization, • Partner with FP&A and operations teams to continuously refine analytical frameworks and reporting as business needs evolve Automation & Process Improvement Create automated workflows for recurring reports, data collection, and validation processes using Power Automate • Develop Python scripts for data manipulation, transformation, and API integration, • Build custom connectors and integrations to streamline data flow between systems, • Implement data quality monitoring and alerting systems, • Document processes and create technical specifications for all automation workflows Training & Data Enablement • Train end-users on Power BI, data tools, and best practices for data exploration, • Foster data literacy across the organization through workshops and documentation, • Provide technical support and guidance to business users on analytics and reporting, • Stay current with BI and data platform trends to recommend future enhancements DESIRED EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field, • 5+ years of professional experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data engineering, • Demonstrated experience in Commercial Real Estate, real estate finance, or related industry strongly preferred, • Proven ability to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions and KPIs, • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, or similar enterprise data platforms, • Familiarity with CRE data systems: Yardi, CoStar, Argus or similar property management and analytics platforms, • Proven track record of building complex Power BI solutions and data models, • Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes, • Experience building API integrations and automated workflows DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: • Power BI: Advanced dashboard development, complex DAX calculations, Power Query (M language), data modeling, performance optimization, • SQL: Advanced query writing, stored procedures, performance tuning, database design (Azure SQL, SQL Server, or similar), • Python: Data manipulation and automation scripting (pandas, numpy, requests, API integration), • Data Platforms: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or similar enterprise data platforms, • Power Automate: Workflow automation and system integration, • Excel: Advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query/Power Pivot, • APIs: Understanding of REST APIs and ability to connect systems programmatically, • Version Control: Git/GitHub for code management and collaboration MISSION Utilize our expertise and experience to recognize market inefficiencies, quickly deploy capital and talent to act on opportunities, deliver superior outcomes to stakeholders, and strive for excellence in everything we do.
