Job Description The Company Founded in 1927 as a division of Pan American World Airways, Avports is an experienced and trusted airport manager and operator. Today, the company operates with over 650 staff (of which approximately 300 are unionized) at 14+ airports across the US and the Caribbean, with that number slated to grow to 800 during the next year with the addition of new airport projects. In addition, Avports is now acting as the leaseholder and operator of public-private partnership (P3) projects at Tweed New Haven Airport (HVN) in Connecticut and the Manassas Regional Airport (HEF) in Virginia. Avports has historically managed and operated a portfolio of airport operations and maintenance (O&M) and public-private partnership (P3/PPP) contracts at more than 30 US airports. These airports have diverse operations, encompassing commercial and general aviation airports, passenger terminals, joint-use airports, heliports, NASA facilities, and spaceports. The company is working to integrate electric aviation, hydrogen fuel cells, and zero-emission decarbonization concepts in existing airport environments. In 2018, Goldman Sachs acquired Avports through its infrastructure investment fund, West Street Infrastructure Partners III (WSIP III). Since then, Goldman Sachs has been committed to helping the company expand current operations, as well as expanding its offerings, in particular helping Avports go from being a third-party operator to a truly redevelopment-focused business. Job Summary Support enterprise-wide financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting. Partner closely with accounting and business stakeholders to provide accurate cash flow projections, variance analyses, and financial insights that support operational and long-term objectives. Contribute to corporate initiatives, including capital structuring, M&A, infrastructure development, and organization-wide projects that require rigorous financial evaluation and business case development. Undergraduate degree with at least one year of experience in corporate finance, financial services, or consulting; an MBA or MS in Finance is preferred. Demonstrate strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles, advanced Excel capabilities, and experience building and reviewing financial models, including discounted cash flow analyses. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, and a high standard of integrity, accountability, and comfort working through ambiguity, experience with ERP systems, and data visualization tools. Board-level reporting, or investment-style financial modeling is a plus. Position is exempt, and regular, full-time reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. Primary work is on-site and based in Northern Virgina (Dulles/Herndon). Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, meet corporate and airport access requirements, and be able to travel domestically and internationally including occasional overnight stays. Essential Job Functions • Prepare budgets and forecasts, variance analyses, long-term planning, risk/opportunity assessments, and periodic/ad hoc reporting, • Maintain monthly cash flow projections based on project/client invoicing, revenue and accounts receivables and revenue, and expenses and accounts receivable, • Work on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization, including standalone business cases and project financial models (discounted cash flows)., • Build and maintain financial models (discounted cash flow models) for company projects and pursuits, and review financial models developed internally or externally., • Partner with the accounting team during the close process as needed, which may include reviewing departmental general ledgers, preparing revenue and expense accruals, and providing P&L and Cash variance explanations to budget and forecasts, • Serve as finance liaison to departments by working closely with them in understanding their business, supporting their initiatives, and general financial inquiries, • Help the team with various aspects of debt financing origination, structuring, project finance, acquisition finance, syndication, and debt capital structure solutions, • Support M&A and infrastructure development initiatives with financial due diligence and valuation modeling., • Assist senior team members in any internal initiative or requirement., • Accept ownership and accountability, consistently delivering accurate, high-quality results with a sense of urgency, • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and corporate stakeholders, • Operate with integrity and compliance, adhering to internal policies and applicable aviation regulations, • Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and conscientiousness in all work, • Communicate timelines, expectations, and progress clearly, • Make timely decisions when options are clear, escalating appropriately for higher risk or ambiguity, • Support team continuity and knowledge sharing, • Seek, receive, and apply constructive feedback to support ongoing development Education & Experience • Minimum: undergraduate degree in business, finance, science technology, engineering, economics, or math disciplines, in addition to one (1) year of work experience in corporate finance, financial services, or consulting field., • General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles, • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills, • Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with senior leadership and Board members, • High level of commitment to quality work product, organizational ethics, integrity and compliance, • Comfortable navigating through ambiguity without clear solutions., • Financial modelling experience, ideally gained at an investment bank, infrastructure developer, or private equity investor, • Knowledge utilizing ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle), • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau), • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, • Must be eligible to travel domestically, including occasional overnight stays, • Primarily office-based, with occasional domestic travel (~10–20% per year), • Employees must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the primary work location., • Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods., • Requires visual acuity, hearing, and speaking ability to communicate effectively., • Regular use of hands and fingers to operate computer equipment and office devices., • Occasionally lifts or moves objects up to 25 pounds., • Must be able to navigate office environments and operational sites as needed., • Flexible to support occasional extended hours., • While office work is sedentary, tasks at operational sites require mobility, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.
