Job DescriptionDescription: This position performs set up and serving activities within the Cafeteria, Eagle Café, or kitchen operations with primary responsibility for preparing and serving food and beverage items to students in a friendly and courteous manner. Hospitality service includes, but not limited to hot lunch items, bottled, canned, and brewed or blended beverages, bakery items, pre-packaged snacks, salads, snack trays, sandwiches; completing set up and break down of hospitality locations. May be required to perform cashier duties and have knowledge of POS systems. Maintains accurate inventory and proper USDA and food safety serving methods for all individual food and beverage items offered. • Thoroughly knowledgeable on all food & beverage; including preparation, serving, and storage standards according to Mn Dept. of Health., • Responsible for precautionary awareness of allergen and dietary needs. Uses day dots and allergen labeling of items served to ensure safe food service., • Ensures consistency and profitability by following recipe cards for portioning and adhering to menu specifications when serving., • Greets & serves students/parents/staff in a timely and professional manner, knowledgeable regarding daily menus, and checks for guests needs. Responds to guest questions, offers assistance, and information as needed. Works in collaboration with supervisors and management to ensure guests are valued and satisfied., • Responsible for food prep: Washes, peels, and slices vegetables/fruits that may be fresh, canned, or frozen. Arranges salad bar, hot food, bottles, bakeries, displays and packaged snacks to make attractive displays., • Prepares “to go” lunches daily for EE-PreK and fulfills, pans up estimated food quantities for service the next day, and assembles any Field Trip Bag Lunch orders as needed., • Receives and checks in purchased items to ensure accuracy. Receives and examines food and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications. Receives, organizes, and follows FIFO (First in, first out) for items in freezer, cooler, and dry storage areas., • Stocks and maintains supplies, refrigerators, dispensers, and/or display cases throughout the shift ensuring no interruption in guest service. Notifies management when inventory supplies are low., • Completes set up and break down of hospitality spaces. Responsible for keeping spaces clean and in good order throughout the shift. Hospitality spaces include: kitchen, dish area, serving areas, concessions and portable cart areas, including dining areas, back hallways, storage cages, service counters and related storage areas., • Washes, rinses, and sanitizes all smallwares and other equipment. Completes stocking/filling consumables: condiments, plastic ware, and napkin dispensers etc., • Exercises care, performs required daily maintenance, and ensures all operating instructions/checklists, safety standards and guidelines are followed in relation to NLA Hospitality equipment and/or facility assets., • Assists with new employee and student TA training, as needed, by positively reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful and encouraging instruction., • Completes all other duties as assigned.Requirements:, • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills., • Ability to prioritize tasks and move through them quickly., • Strong organizational skills and diligent attention to details., • Prefer experience in a high-volume, food and/or beverage environment., • High school diploma., • Is able to effectively integrate the gospel-centered message into day-to-day responsibilities effectively., • Proactively seeks ways to improve how the school and church presents itself from a Christian perspective., • Born again believer who exhibits the Fruit of the Spirit in their daily walk, • Regular attendee and supporter of a church whose fundamental beliefs are evangelical in nature
