The Business and Financial Service (Bfs) Warehousing team mission as an inventory management team is to ensure the availability of material when it is required, while at the same time not over-buying material that may not be fully consumed in the future. Minimizing the cost of material through active sourcing and awareness of market trends are key components to this process as well, ensuring that the total value of material in stock is controlled and the final price issued to the customer is fair, reasonable, and consistent with the open market. Deliver and pick-up supplies within the campus and Austin area. Driving University owned vehicles to job sites will be required for this and most other functions., • Conduct weekly inventory cycle counts. Maintain and operate kitting area to store material for specific in-progress projects., • Inspect issue forms for proper format and correct errors on issue forms to ensure accuracy of forms., • Operate and inspect forklifts, pallet jacks, delivery vans, trucks, and dollies to ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment., • Receive materials from vendors, and check materials in, load and unload bulk materials that are delivered to Central Stores daily, process defective merchandise for exchange by vendor or send to salvage, • Research discrepancies found in material being received by noting on purchase order by tracing cost paperwork. Notify shop personnel of deliveries ready for pickup and expedite the delivery of material., • Research paperwork on computer to match requisition number and purchase order number to ensure paperwork is pulled maintaining files and receiving logs as required., • Other duties as assigned, • Stores Clerk I: High school graduation, GED or vocational school. Six months in stock handling and/or maintaining records. Forklift certification., • Stores Clerk II: High school graduation, GED or vocational school. One year in stock handling and/or maintaining records. Forklift certification. More than three years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a Stores unit. Completion of bookkeeping and courses. More than five years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a Stores unit. Some of the required experience acquired at The University of Texas. This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
