Job Description Mobile Staff Solutions is seeking two skilled Bilingual CMAs in the Tampa area! This is a temporary to permanent position. Overview / Purpose The Bilingual CMA in the Endocrinology clinic supports high-quality patient care by performing both clinical and administrative tasks under the supervision of the endocrinologist or advanced provider. The bilingual component ensures excellent communication with patients whose primary language is not English, improving patient experience, understanding, adherence, and outcomes. Key Responsibilities & Duties Clinical Duties • Greet and room patients; obtain chief complaints and medical histories in a bilingual capacity (e.g. Spanish/English or other language)., • Record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, weight, height, BMI)., • Perform point-of-care testing (e.g. glucose monitoring, HbA1c fingersticks, urinalysis, pregnancy tests) and send lab specimens., • Assist provider with physical examinations and minor procedures (e.g. injections, skin punctures, wound care) as needed and within scope., • Administer medications and vaccines as directed by physician, following protocols., • Prepare patients for diagnostic testing (e.g. endocrine panels, thyroid function tests) and ensure proper specimen handling., • Provide patient education about endocrine conditions (e.g. diabetes, thyroid disorders, hormone replacement) in both languages, reinforcing provider instructions and checking for understanding., • Review medication lists, check for drug interactions, allergies, and update records appropriately., • Monitor and document changes in patient condition; escalate concerns to provider or nursing staff as needed., • Maintain and sterilize medical instruments, equipment, and supplies; ensure proper stock levels., • Comply with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety protocols. Administrative / Clerical Duties • Check in/out patients, verify demographics, insurance information, and collect co-payments., • Enter and update patient information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) accurately and in a timely manner., • Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and diagnostic tests; manage appointment reminders and rescheduling., • Answer phone calls, relay messages, and triage patient inquiries (in both languages)., • Process lab orders, authorization requests, and referrals., • Retrieve, organize, and maintain medical records, test results, and documentation., • Assist with billing and coding support (e.g. entering ICD-10, CPT codes, ensuring correct documentation)., • Order and maintain office and clinic supplies; monitor inventory and restock as needed., • Assist in quality improvement projects, audits, or regulatory compliance tasks as required. Bilingual / Communication Component • Conduct all above tasks in a fluent bilingual manner (spoken and written) to ensure clear communication, education, and documentation in patients’ preferred language., • Translate medical forms, instructions, and educational materials (if required)., • Act as liaison between provider and patients when language barriers exist, ensuring accuracy in medical communication. Qualifications Required • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from recognized accrediting organization (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NCCT, etc.)., • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification., • Fluency in English and [the required second language, e.g. Spanish] (oral, reading, writing)., • At least 1 year of clinical medical assisting experience (preferably in a specialty or outpatient clinic)., • Strong working knowledge of EHR systems, medical terminology, and clinic workflow., • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills., • Ability to multitask, prioritize, work under minimal supervision, and maintain attention to detail., • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and standard infection control practices. Preferred • Experience or familiarity with endocrinology, diabetes management, hormone therapy, or related specialty., • Experience in phlebotomy, EKG, or other diagnostic tests., • Experience handling insurance authorizations and referrals., • Proficiency in medical billing / coding basics., • Ability to train or mentor new staff. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements • Typically works in outpatient clinic setting, although occasional travel to satellite sites may be required., • Standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to typical instrument/supply weights) and performing repeated hand/arm movements., • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, clinical equipment, sharps, and biohazardous materials., • Occasional evening or weekend hours depending on clinic schedule or provider needs., • Must adhere to client's safety, privacy, and quality protocols.
