Job Description Join the Landmark Equipment Team Landmark Equipment is looking for a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Parts Specialist to join our Portland team. This is an important position within our company. Our Parts Department supports our service technicians, customers, equipment sales, and day-to-day operations. We need someone who can research parts, communicate with customers and vendors, stay on top of orders, maintain accurate inventory, and help keep repair jobs moving. This is not a forklift operator or warehouse-only position. This is a professional parts and customer service position for someone who enjoys solving problems, working around equipment, helping customers, and taking ownership of their work. Experience with forklift, heavy equipment, automotive, truck, agricultural, industrial, or similar parts is preferred. We're also willing to train the right person who has good mechanical aptitude, relevant parts experience, and a strong willingness to learn. What You'll Do • Help customers and service technicians identify the correct parts., • Research parts using serial numbers, manufacturer catalogs, parts manuals, diagrams, online resources, and vendor systems., • Contact manufacturers and vendors for pricing, availability, and technical information., • Prepare parts quotes and process customer and internal parts orders., • Place purchase orders and track open orders, special orders, and backorders., • Follow up with customers, technicians, and vendors to keep orders moving., • Receive incoming parts and verify part numbers, quantities, and condition., • Pull and stage parts for technicians and customer orders., • Maintain accurate inventory and parts records., • Help maintain appropriate stocking levels for commonly used parts., • Work closely with our Service Department to help keep customer repairs moving., • Communicate with customers regarding pricing, availability, and order status., • Look for additional parts or solutions that may help customers complete their repairs., • Manage and sell surplus and obsolete parts through eBay, SourceLine, and other online platforms., • Assist with shipping and receiving., • Occasionally pick up or deliver parts locally using a company vehicle., • Keep the Parts Department clean, organized, and efficient., • Assist with other parts-related responsibilities as needed. Who We're Looking For You don't need to know every forklift part on your first day. You do need to be someone who is willing to find the answer, pays attention to details, follows through, and can be counted on by customers and coworkers. The right person will: • Have parts experience in forklift, heavy equipment, automotive, truck, agricultural, industrial equipment, or a related field., • Have good mechanical aptitude and an understanding of basic equipment components., • Be comfortable reading parts diagrams and researching unfamiliar parts., • Pay close attention to part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, pricing, and order details., • Be comfortable using computers throughout the workday., • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, vendors, technicians, and coworkers., • Be organized and able to manage several priorities at once., • Take initiative and follow tasks through to completion., • Be self-motivated and productive without constant supervision., • Understand the importance of accurate inventory and recordkeeping., • Be dependable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance., • Work well independently and as part of a team. Experience & Qualifications Preferred: • Parts department or parts counter experience, • Forklift or heavy equipment experience, • Automotive, truck, agricultural, or industrial parts experience, • Customer service experience, • Inventory management, • Parts research using serial numbers, manuals, and diagrams, • QuickBooks, • Microsoft Word and Excel, • eBay or other online sales platforms, • Shipping and receiving Required: • Strong attention to detail, • Good written and verbal communication skills, • Basic computer proficiency, • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, • Ability to safely lift and handle parts weighing up to approximately 50 lbs., • Ability to reliably work our regular Monday–Friday schedule Schedule Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM Full-time, in-person position at our Portland location. No regular weekends. Pay & Benefits $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
