Job Description Flexible Remote Option: This position will offer the opportunity to work remotely based on business need and manager discretion. This flexible remote option allows the manager to determine the schedule and frequency of remote work on a weekly basis. The expectation of this approach requires mandatory in-office attendance for participation in collaborative meetings. Your Impact: Incumbent works under limited supervision performing application systems analysis and programming duties. This encompasses performing program design, development, unit testing, and defect correction. As well as maintain and develop BI applications, ETL solutions using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or related ETL tools to support the INPRS EDW/BI platform. A strong working knowledge of one or more software development methodologies is expected along with familiarity with business problem analysis, system design and systems integration. Essential Duties: • Assists in research, fact-finding and analyzing user needs and problems required to develop and maintain information systems., • Assists in preparing requirements, functional design, physical design and other relevant system design components., • Assist and support business users in reporting and KPI’s using the Looker tool set., • Executes task conforming to IT techniques, standards, policies and procedures., • Provides documentation for new or modified information systems and/or application software programs., • Monitors completed application software systems to ensure proper execution and performance., • High level of expertise in report writing, analytics, and executive decision support, • Understanding of underlying table structure and application architecture., • Familiarity with table based and SQL based APIs., • Ability to develop and support data Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes, • Ability to maintain and develop ETL solutions using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or related ETL tools to support the INPRS EDW/BI platform., • Providing maintenance and support of IT applications and systems., • Employing new, as well as tested and proven technologies to develop technical solutions to meet business requirements., • Proactively observing system performance and initiating improvements as necessary., • Promoting the goals and objectives of the IT Department., • Ability to thoroughly test and certify enhancements and bug fixes., • Highly motivated with strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills., • Strong technical skills with desire to stay up to date with technology changes., • Demonstrate ability to learn the various provisions of a multiple plan pension system and concepts related to institutional investment and retirement planning., • Working knowledge of information systems design principles and new systems design techniques;, • Specific knowledge in data warehouse application tool sets such as: Looker, ProClarity, Business Objects, Tableau or similar enterprise class data warehouse solution., • Knowledge of policies, standards, procedures, and techniques used for application development;, • Hands-on data integration experience using an enterprise level ETL tool (ODI, Informatica, SSIS, etc.)., • Technical aptitude and understanding of programming concepts., • Ability to perform problem solving and analytical analysis;, • Ability to work independently under general direction;, • Ability to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with others;, • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing., • Ability to develop or acquire the skill set to establish business and technical requirement., • A commitment to continuous professional development., • A high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail., • The ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities., • Flexibility to work as needed outside of traditional business hours when required., • Bachelors degree preferred, but not required, • Working knowledge of SQL, • Any of the following tool knowledge a Plus, • Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Informatica, • Competitive compensation, • Flexible Remote Option, • Flexible Work Schedule, • Healthcare coverage (medical / dental / vision), • Health savings account with employer contribution, • Prescription coverage, • Employer funded retirement plan (pension plan), • Deferred compensation plan (employer and/or employee contribution plan), • Flexible spending account, • Work/life balance (37.5 hours weekly), • 12 paid holidays; 14 during election year, • Paid leave (personal, sick, vacation), • Tuition reimbursement, • Professional credential reimbursement, • Group life insurance Equal Employment Opportunity: The Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to recruit, select, develop, and promote employees based on individual ability and job performance.
