Job DescriptionJob Title: Teaching Assistant – Pipefitting Training Program Location: Mobile, AL Job Type: Full-Time (Can adjust for Part-Time/Contract if needed) Pay Range: $30/hr Overview: We are seeking a Teaching Assistant (TA) to support delivery of an 18-month maritime-aligned training program. This role is ideal for an experienced pipefitter and lead hand who wants to transition into training, mentorship, or workforce development. The TA works directly under the Pipefitter Instructor to support classroom instruction, hands-on shop activities, apprentice supervision, and program operations while reinforcing safety, discipline, and craftsmanship standards. Key Responsibilities: • Plan and deliver structured instruction using MIB-Pipefitting modules., • Assist the Pipefitter Instructor during classroom and shop-based instruction., • Support hands-on demonstrations and supervise apprentice lab/shop activities., • Reinforce safety protocols, PPE usage, and shop rules., • Provide one-on-one coaching and guidance to apprentices during practical work., • Help administer written tests, skills assessments, and performance evaluations., • Track attendance, progress, and completion data in the training management system., • Prepare tools, materials, and workstations for daily instruction., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment., • Support coordination with recruitment and workforce development teams as needed.Required Skills and Qualifications:, • 5+ years of pipefitting experience (industrial, shipyard), • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to mentor and support adult learners, • Commitment to safety and trade best practices, • Basic comfort using digital toolsPreferred Skills and Certifications:, • Shipyard or maritime pipefitting experience, • Prior experience mentoring apprentices or junior tradespeople, • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification., • Interest in transitioning to a full instructor role over time, • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required).Work Environment:, • Blend of classroom and hands-on shop/field settings., • May require extended periods of standing and physical demonstrations., • Primarily daytime hours, with some scheduling flexibility as needed.Ameri-Force BenefitsAs part of the Ameri-Force team, a recognized ESOP company, you have a personal stake in the collective success of the organization, fostering a collaborative and rewarding work environment.
