Job DescriptionSalary: $50,336-$62,920 DOE POSITION SUMMARY: The Marketing & Events Manager develops and deploys the organizations marketing and communication strategies with the goal of increasing engagement in a variety of ways across many stakeholder groups, including donors, volunteers, clients, shoppers, partnering businesses, and more. The Marketing & Events Manager will accomplish this goal through creative marketing across multiple channels (direct mail, print, live news coverage, website, social media, etc.), brand management, public relations, and events. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Marketing & Community Engagement (40%): • Development and execution of a comprehensive annual marketing and communications plan in coordination with the Director of Development., • Content creation across multiple platforms., • Provide graphic design for various marketing pieces., • Be the go-to person for media requests., • Speak at events and give presentations to schools, clubs, churches, civic organizations, etc., as needed., • Take photos, videos, and capture testimonials to use in marketing materials., • Manage photo and video library., • Assist with the development (write, edit, and design) of impactful materials (donors, volunteers, program services, etc.)., • Website management and content creation., • Management of social media channels, • Work with local newspapers, radio stations, and TV stations to promote affiliate activities and expand public exposure., • Develop presentation materials, including videos and PowerPoint presentations., • Provide other development and communications support as needed. Events & Fundraising (40%): • Oversee event planning and implementation (fundraisers, community activities: parades, speaking engagements, housing fairs, etc.), • Oversee events committees, • Work to develop new event opportunities and ideas, • Engage businesses, civic groups, and churches as event sponsors Branding (20%): • Be a brand ambassador, promoting the Habitat and ReStore mission throughout the community., • Ensure branding is consistent across platforms and aligned with Habitat International standards., • Review public-facing pieces created by other departments for brand consistency., • Conduct a regular review of the office and ReStore branding to ensure adherence to brand guidelines and find ways to continuously improve brand identity for visitors and shoppers. Other duties as assigned EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: • A degree in marketing or communications, or 4 years of direct experience, is required., • Must be knowledgeable of print, email, and social media marketing techniques., • Ability to interpret and analyze data., • Fluent in design and marketing software., • Able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Video production experience preferred., • Experience with event planning and management preferred., • Experience with website design and management preferred. SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: Work is performed in full cooperation with other Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity staff and external organizations. The Marketing & Events Manager will have regular supervisory sessions with the Director of Development to discuss opportunities, progress, and critical problems. The Marketing & Events Manager may lead teams of volunteers as needed for events. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • The position will involve regular local travel and occasional regional travel for meetings and events. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required., • Willingness to work outside of standard office hours as needed on a regular basis., • Willingness to travel in-state and out of state for appropriate trainings and conferences., • Willingness to lead and train others., • Willingness to speak publicly to small and large groups., • Due to the nature of the affiliate operations, all affiliate positions may be subject to credit, background, or drug use random check, • Must pass Criminal Background Check (convictions will be reviewed based on the seriousness of the crime, and a conviction does not necessarily mean disqualification), • Must pass a Sexual Offender Check. While performing the duties of this job, work may involve a mix of desk work, event coordination, and occasional physical tasks related to the mission-driven activities of the organization. Staff may need to handle light items such as office supplies, files, promotional materials, or event equipment, often weighing less than 40 pounds.
