What You Do: The Production Manager plays a strategic role in overseeing the full cannabis production lifecycle, including cultivation, processing, and packaging operations. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, driving operational efficiency, and leading teams to maintain the highest standards of quality. The Production Manager provides comprehensive leadership, optimizes resources, and fosters innovation within a fast-paced cannabis production environment. Job Responsibilities: • Facility Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations of the cannabis facility, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies., • Team Management: Lead and manage departmental managers and teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence., • Production Oversight: Supervise the cultivation, processing, and packaging operations to ensure optimal efficiency and quality., • Resource Planning: Coordinate with department managers to optimize resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and supplies., • Quality Control: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures throughout the production process., • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all local and state regulations governing cannabis production., • Budget Management: Collaborate with finance to develop and manage budgets, controlling costs while maintaining operational excellence., • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing best practices for enhanced production efficiency. Skills and Abilities: • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate cross-functional teams., • Working knowledge of cannabis cultivation, processing, and packaging operations., • In-depth understanding of cannabis regulatory requirements., • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed operational decisions., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred., • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in production, operations, or manufacturing environments, preferably within regulated industries such as cannabis, pharmaceuticals, or food production., • Demonstrated experience overseeing multi-department operations with full accountability for compliance, performance, and team leadership., • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of formal degree requirements. Physical Requirements: • Combination of office-based tasks and on-site cultivation production oversight., • Ability to move around the production facility, including navigating through greenhouse or indoor cultivation and post-harvest spaces., • Endurance for prolonged periods of standing, walking, and actively participating in cultivation, post-harvest, and inventory activities., • Capable of lifting and carrying equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds., • Proficiency in using production tools and equipment, requiring precise hand-eye coordination., • Comfortable working in varying temperatures and humidity levels typical of a cannabis cultivation environment., • Ability to actively engage in cultivation tasks, including planting, pruning, harvesting, processing, and packaging cannabis plants. Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables.
