Job DescriptionAbout the PositionWatchGuard Technologies is seeking a Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting to lead all aspects of revenue accounting and accounts receivable for our growing global SaaS and technology business. This is a highly visible, hands on leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and scalable revenue operations in accordance with ASC 606. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for GAAP revenue recognition, NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), and SKU setup, while partnering cross functionally to support business growth, automation, and operational excellence. A Day in the LifeIn this role, your day will balance hands on execution with strategic leadership. You may start the morning reviewing revenue close activity, deferred revenue movements, or resolving a complex ASC 606 judgment related to a non standard deal. Throughout the day, you will partner closely with Sales Operations, Deal Desk, Legal, and FP&A to ensure contracts, SKUs, and system configurations are set up correctly from the start. You will spend time in NetSuite reviewing ARM configurations, revenue schedules, and automation opportunities, while also coaching your team, removing roadblocks, and improving processes across the order to cash lifecycle. As the owner of revenue audit readiness, you will ensure documentation is tight, controls are operating effectively, and audit requests are addressed efficiently and confidently. Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue Accounting & ASC 606 Ownership• Own GAAP revenue recognition for all products and services in compliance with ASC 606, including complex SaaS and technology arrangements. • Review customer contracts and order forms to identify performance obligations, determine transaction prices, and ensure appropriate revenue allocation and recognition., • Serve as the technical accounting lead for revenue related matters, including new product launches, pricing changes, and go to market initiatives.NetSuite & Systems Leadership• Own and optimize NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), including revenue rules, allocation logic, and automation., • Partner with IT, Sales Operations, and Finance Systems to improve quote to cash workflows and reduce manual processes., • Lead SKU setup and ongoing maintenance to ensure accurate billing, revenue recognition, and reporting., • Identify, prioritize, and lead process improvements across revenue accounting and order to cash, with a focus on reducing manual effort and increasing scalability., • Drive automation initiatives within NetSuite and related systems to streamline revenue recognition, billing, and close activities., • Partner with Finance Systems, IT, and cross functional stakeholders to design and implement sustainable, automated solutions that replace manual or spreadsheet driven processes., • Take ownership of identifying and remediating manual, inefficient, or high risk revenue processes, prioritizing solutions that improve accuracy, controls, and scalability.Accounts Receivable & Order to Cash• Oversee accounts receivable, billing, cash application, and collections processes., • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and scalable processes across the order to cash lifecycle., • Oversee inventory accounting for hardware and related products, including inventory capitalization, cost of goods sold, and inventory reserves., • Review and support inventory related close activities, including inventory reconciliations, rollforwards, and flux analysis., • Lead revenue related close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, deferred revenue rollforwards, and flux analysis., • Ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting for management, auditors, and external stakeholders., • Own revenue documentation and accounting memos supporting ASC 606 conclusions and key judgments., • Own the annual audit process for all revenue related areas, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors., • Prepare and review audit schedules related to revenue, deferred revenue, AR, contract assets, and revenue disclosures., • Coordinate walkthroughs, testing, and PBC requests related to revenue processes and controls., • Proactively identify and resolve audit issues, ensuring timely audit completion and clean audit outcomes., • Continuously improve revenue close processes by eliminating manual workarounds, strengthening controls, and improving accuracy and timeliness., • Leverage strong Excel and data analysis skills to support complex reconciliations, audit support, and analysis across revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable.Leadership & Cross Functional Partnership• Build, lead, and develop a high performing revenue accounting and accounts receivable team., • Partner closely with Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, FP&A, and Operations to ensure alignment and scalability., • Provide clear ownership, accountability, and process discipline across revenue operations., • Build, manage, and scale offshore accounting resources in partnership with internal stakeholders, ensuring clear ownership, effective communication, and consistent execution., • Establish effective operating rhythms, documentation, and controls to support offshore teams across revenue accounting, accounts receivable, and close activities., • Foster strong collaboration between onshore and offshore teams to drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement., • Establish standard, well documented processes, and operating procedures to support consistent execution across onshore and offshore teams., • Champion a mindset of continuous improvement, balancing near term execution with longer term automation and scalability goals.Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA strongly preferred., • 7+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience in a SaaS and/or technology company., • Deep expertise in ASC 606 and GAAP revenue recognition., • Hands on experience with NetSuite, including Advanced Revenue Management (ARM)., • Proven experience owning end to end GAAP revenue, accounts receivable, and audit support., • Strong Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and the ability to merge and reconcile large datasets from multiple systems to support revenue accounting and close activities., • Strong technical accounting, analytical, and communication skills., • Experience managing and/or building offshore accounting teams, with a proven ability to drive accountability, quality, and alignment across geographies., • Demonstrated experience improving manual accounting processes and implementing automation in a SaaS or technology environment.Preferred Qualifications• Experience scaling revenue operations in a high growth or global technology environment., • Demonstrated people management experience with the ability to develop and mentor teams., • Experience leading system enhancements or finance transformation initiatives related to revenue accounting or order to cash., • Public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm preferred), with exposure to SaaS or technology clients.CompensationThe base salary range is $125,000-$155,000 per year for full-time employment, exclusive of benefits. This position is also eligible for a bonus of 10% of the base salary. Your base salary will be determined by your individual skills, education, and experience. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical in order to allow for future salary growth.
