Job Description Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and motivated Entry-Level Sprinkler Helper to support our inspection and service team. This role is focused on assisting with routine sprinkler system inspections, testing, and repair work The ideal candidate is physically capable, eager to learn, and able to maintain a professional presence while working in commercial and institutional environments such as healthcare facilities, universities, and office buildings. Key Responsibilities • Assist technicians with inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 25), • Support service and repair work, including minor system adjustments, component replacement, and troubleshooting, • Help perform system testing, including:, • Main drain tests, • Inspector’s tests, • Valve inspections and operational checks, • Assist in verifying proper signal transmission to fire alarm systems during testing (coordination with monitoring/FA systems), • Maintain clean, organized work areas and properly handle tools, materials, and equipment, • Accurately document inspection and service activities under supervision, • Communicate professionally with customers and facility personnel on-site, • Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite requirements Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, • Valid driver’s license, • Ability to pass background and drug screening, • Strong work ethic and reliability—shows up on time and ready to work, • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team, • Interest in learning the fire protection trade and growing within the company Physical Requirements • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds, • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in mechanical rooms, • Able to work in various environments (heat, cold, dust, confined spaces), • Capable of extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and climbing Preferred (Not Required) • Prior experience in construction, mechanical trades, or fire protection, • Basic understanding of sprinkler or fire alarm systems, • OSHA 10 certification Professional Expectations • Maintain a clean, professional appearance appropriate for customer-facing work, • Demonstrate strong dependability and accountability, • Communicate respectfully with team members and customers, • Represent the company with integrity at all times Growth Opportunities This position provides a clear path for advancement into a Sprinkler Technician role, with opportunities for: • On-the-job training, • NICET certification support, • Increased responsibility and compensation based on performanceCompany DescriptionBFPE International stands as a premier Total Fire Protection provider in the Mid‐Atlantic region.
