Why Join Us | DuPont Careers DuPont is recruiting for an Industrial Mechanic to join its dynamic team located at its manufacturing site in Buffalo, NY. Yerkes Buffalo is the North American manufacturing home of Corian® solid surface products, introduced in 1968 and the founding manufacturing location for Tedlar® polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) films, introduced in 1961. As an Industrial Mechanic you will be responsible for the safe and responsible upkeep, maintenance, repair, installation, and adjustment of process equipment and mechanical systems. This position operates on a rotating shift as part of team that operates 24/7 including holidays and weekends. This position has a current starting rate on days of $39.11 and will increase to $43.02 once assigned to shifts. This position is part of a bargaining unit and shift schedules may change based on the bargaining agreement. Your key responsibilities will be/what you'll do: \n • Independently install, modify, and maintain mechanical and other systems\n, • Inspect, maintain, repair, adjust, and install process equipment, such as pumps, mechanical seals, compressors, generators, filters, grinders, absorbing towers, electrical motors, power units, valves, hydraulic valves, hydraulic systems, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, precision measuring and testing instruments, metal fabricating machine tools, and automated lubrication systems\n, • Troubleshoot and repair complex problems\n, • Verify, adjust, and align dimensions of functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, straight edges, and alignment devices as well as blueprints, diagrams, repair manuals, calipers, micrometers, scales, and other measuring instruments\n, • Aligns machines, motors and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rulers, micrometers, and precision alignment equipment.\n\n JOB QUALIFICATIONS Requirements: \n • High school diploma plus completion of a trade school or apprenticeship certificate or program\n, • 4 years' experience as a Millwright, Maintenance Mechanic or similar in a manufacturing environment\n, • Working knowledge of pumps, seals, bearings, utility system components, piping and valves, and complex chemical processing equipment.\n, • Willing and able to work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule including holidays and weekends as well as overtime, sometimes on short notice.\n, • Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs.\n\n Preferred Skills/Qualifications: \n • Associates degree or higher in Mechanical Technology or related discipline strongly preferred.\n, • Welding certification - Level 6G preferred\n, • Specialized skills in pipe fitting\n\n Additional Information: \n • All applicants must successfully complete onsite assessments to be considered for the role.\n, • Must pass Drug Screen, Background check, and pre-employment Physical.\n, • Must be able to perform all duties with or without accommodation.\n\n Join our Talent Community to stay connected with us!
