The Coffee Shop Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations, financial performance, and guest experience of the coffee shop at a Makeready property. This role blends operational leadership with hospitality, brand stewardship, and team development—ensuring the coffee shop is a vibrant, welcoming space for hotel guests and the local community alike. Requested Tasks • Lead all day-to-day operations of the coffee shop, ensuring consistent execution of Makeready service standards., • Maintain excellence in product quality, cleanliness, speed of service, and presentation., • Uphold cash-handling procedures, POS accuracy, and internal controls., • Address guest feedback and service recovery with professionalism and hospitality., • Hire, train, schedule, and develop a high-performing barista and supervisory team., • Lead by example on the floor, fostering a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture., • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities for team members., • Ensure staffing levels align with business volume and seasonal demand., • Manage labor costs, scheduling, and productivity to meet budgeted targets., • Oversee ordering, inventory control, and vendor relationships for coffee, food, and retail items., • Minimize waste and control costs while maintaining product quality and availability., • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and achieving revenue and profitability goals., • Execute coffee, beverage, and food offerings in alignment with Makeready and property brand standards., • Partner with culinary, beverage, and brand teams on menu development, seasonal features, and local offerings., • Ensure compliance with all recipes, preparation standards, and presentation guidelines., • Uphold brand identity through merchandising, signage, and overall guest-facing presentation., • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol (if applicable) regulations., • Collaborate with hotel operations, food & beverage leadership, and marketing teams to support promotions and property initiatives., • Support on-property activations, events, and partnerships that drive traffic and brand awareness., • Build relationships with local vendors, roasters, and community partners when applicable., • Adhere to Makeready's Guiding Principles, policies and procedures, • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in coffee shop, café, or food & beverage management., • Strong working knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso equipment, and café operations., • Proven experience leading, training, and developing teams., • Financial acumen with experience managing labor, inventory, and cost controls., • Exceptional guest service and communication skills., • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
