Job Description About the Role: The Lead Housekeeping Agent - Self Inspect/Relief Housekeeping Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall presentation of the Roami properties. This position ensures that all guest rooms and public areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and comfort, directly impacting guest satisfaction and operational excellence. The role involves conducting thorough self-inspections to guarantee quality control and stepping in as a relief supervisor to support and lead the housekeeping team during peak times or absences. The successful candidate will balance hands-on cleaning duties with supervisory responsibilities, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Ultimately, this role contributes to creating a welcoming and pristine environment that enhances the reputation and success of the facility. Key Responsibilities: • Clean and turn all assigned units to Roami’s full presentation standards — including linens, bathrooms, kitchen areas, living spaces, and all surfaces., • Ensure every unit is staged and presented in a manner consistent with Roami’s brand standards before it is marked guest-ready., • Complete all assigned units within scheduled turn times to support on-time arrivals and the 4PM unit readiness standard., • Replenish all in-unit amenities, consumables, and supplies during each turn to ensure units are fully stocked for arriving guests., • Report any damage, wear, or missing items discovered during the turn to the Housekeeping Supervisor immediately., • Conduct a thorough self-inspection of every unit cleaned during the shift before marking it guest-ready — evaluating cleanliness, presentation, amenity placement, linen quality, appliance function, and overall condition., • Apply the same inspection standard used by the Housekeeping Supervisor — identify and correct any deficiency on the spot before the unit is released., • Sign off on each self-inspected unit with confidence — this role is authorized to release units to guest-ready status without requiring a separate supervisor inspection., • Maintain a zero-defect standard on all self-inspected units — the Lead Room Attendant’s sign-off carries full accountability for unit quality., • Self-inspection authority applies to units cleaned by the Lead Room Attendant only. Units cleaned by other room attendants require Supervisor or Lead inspection before release., • Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor in directing room attendants and housemen at the start of each shift — communicating daily assignments, priority units, and any special instructions., • Monitor team pace and progress throughout the shift, flagging delays or coverage concerns to the Housekeeping Supervisor so adjustments can be made without disrupting the turn schedule., • Step in to assist other room attendants during peak periods, heavy turns, or coverage gaps to keep units on track for guest arrivals., • Lead by example on the floor — demonstrating Roami’s cleaning standards, professionalism, and pace expectations through their own daily work., • The Lead Room Attendant supports direction and coordination at the floor level only., • Maintain all public areas (lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells) to Roami’s cleanliness and presentation standards through routine walkthroughs., • Identify and address cleanliness issues in real time, ensuring all shared spaces remain guest-ready throughout the day., • Replenish supplies (trash liners, paper goods, amenities) and report any maintenance or safety concerns for prompt resolution., • Manage on-site laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens to support daily housekeeping needs, • Maintain organization of laundry and storage areas, track linen inventory, and communicate shortages or recurring issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor., • Conduct vacancy checks across assigned floors or buildings as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Guest Service Associate, verifying that units listed as vacant are in the correct status., • Identify and report any discrepancies between system status and actual unit condition — including units that appear occupied, have personal belongings present, or show signs of unauthorized access., • Document and communicate all vacancy check findings in real time to the Housekeeping Supervisor and Guest Service Associate., • Flag any unit conditions discovered during vacancy checks that require immediate housekeeping attention, maintenance, or GX team follow-up., • Maintain active, real-time communication with the Housekeeping Supervisor and Guest Service Associate throughout the shift on unit status, delays, and any conditions that could impact guest arrivals., • Update unit status accurately and promptly in Roami’s housekeeping platform as each unit is completed, inspected, and released — ensuring the team always has an accurate picture of availability., • Alert the Housekeeping Supervisor and Guest Service Associate immediately if any unit will not be ready by its expected completion time, providing an updated estimated ready time., • Communicate any maintenance needs, safety concerns, or unusual conditions discovered during the shift to the Supervisor without delay., • Serve as a floor-level resource for GX team-flagged room condition issues — when the GX team reports a guest concern about a unit’s cleanliness or condition, the Lead Room Attendant may be dispatched by the Supervisor to address it., • Respond promptly and thoroughly to any GX-flagged unit, resolving the reported condition and confirming resolution back to the Housekeeping Supervisor so the Supervisor can close the loop with the GX team., • Treat GX-flagged units as priority assignments — a guest has already reported a concern, and the response reflects directly on the Roami brand., • Lead Room Attendant reports all GX-related activity to the Supervisor, who owns the GX communication channel., • Maintain a fully stocked, organized, and clean housekeeping cart at all times throughout the shift., • Monitor supply levels on the cart and in the building supply closet throughout the shift, flagging shortages to the Housekeeping Supervisor before they impact the turn schedule., • Ensure linen supplies, cleaning products, amenities, and equipment are properly stored, handled, and used in accordance with Roami’s standards and safety requirements., • Return all equipment, unused supplies, and linen to their designated storage areas at the end of each shift., • Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor in onboarding new room attendants by demonstrating Roami’s cleaning procedures, presentation standards, and inspection expectations during their initial shifts., • Conduct side-by-side training walks with new team members, providing real-time guidance and feedback in a constructive and supportive manner., • Communicate any training gaps or repeated performance issues observed in new team members to the Housekeeping Supervisor for follow-up and coaching., • The Lead Room Attendant supports training at the floor level as directed., • Follow all Roami health, safety, and sanitation standards during every shift — including proper chemical handling, equipment usage, and personal protective equipment requirements., • Ensure cleaning products are used correctly and safely in all units and common areas, following all labeling and safety data sheet (SDS) guidelines., • Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or compliance concerns to the Housekeeping Supervisor immediately., • Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial services, preferably in a hospitality environment., • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards., • Basic supervisory or leadership experience is preferred but not mandatory., • Experience in a supervisory role within housekeeping or related fields., • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment safety procedures., • Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and guest service principles., • Certification in hospitality or facility management is a plus.
