American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Chicago, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: OR - Operating Room, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 10 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 4x10hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Feb 17, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Position is based in the hospital Operating Room, • Level 1 Trauma Center with a focus on Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery cases, • Preferred experience with Neurosurgery, Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology procedures, • Scheduled for 5x8 hour night shifts, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM, • Call requirement is one 10-hour shift per month on a weekend, either 7 AM-7 PM or 7 PM-7 AM, • Weekend work required every other weekend, • Mandatory floating within scope to other units or facilities as needed, including notification up to 2 hours before shift and potentially up to 50 miles away, • Uses Cerner EMR systemRequirements, • Current and active Illinois RN license, no pending licensure accepted, • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OR experience, • Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center required, • BLS certification required, • Strong scrub and circulate skills, • Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery required, • Must be able to provide proof of COVID vaccination, • Local candidates preferred, must reside within 75 miles of the facilityAdditional Information, • Navy blue scrubs are required and will be provided, • No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed, • Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed with no more than 2 consecutive days; no holiday or weekend RTO permitted, • Lab work for compliance must be completed within 72 hours of accepting an offer, • If floated outside of primary competency, a team-based model will be utilized With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
