Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dependable Lead Mechanic to oversee second shift operations in our fleet maintenance department. This role is critical to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely maintenance of our trucks and equipment. This candidate needs to have strong leadership abilities, hands-on mechanical expertise, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence under the Waste Connection standard. Accountability is key. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and supervise second shift mechanics and technicians. That includes the charging of parts and proper work descriptions., • Respond to emergency breakdowns and support field operations when necessary., • 35/65 work split. 35% of the job is clerical in office, 65% is on the floor., • Utilize parts ordering system to coordinate with manager/clerk on parts needing to be ordered., • Perform Quality Checks on work done on the 1st & 2nd shifts., • Participate in daily “Fleet Condition meetings" with manager and First shift lead.
