The lifeguard role at Greystone Golf & Country Club is responsible for supervising the aquatic facility and/or aquatic activities to ensure the safety of all those involved. The lifeguard also maintains all areas in and around the Aquatics Facility. Essential Functions: • Respond with urgency and accuracy to aquatic emergencies, • Provide proper medical care within the scope of training, • Know & enforce all aquatic rules, procedures, policies, and guidelines, • Maintain constant surveillance of water and pool deck areas, • Take and record chemical readings, • Maintain cleanliness of Aquatics facilities, • Assist in daily pool cleaning – facilitated by pool maintenance, • Address member needs and concerns with urgency and care, • Report issues and violations to supervisors, • Handle equipment as assigned, • Take ownership of the pool and responsibilities, • Secure the facility at the close of business & and inspect when reopening, • Report injuries to supervisor and fill out the required and appropriate forms, • Maintain knowledge of and promote Club programs and membership, • Perform a check of all safety/emergency equipment at the start of a scheduled shift Requirements: • Must be 16 years of age or older., • Must hold a current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification (we are able to recertify for lifeguards but not initial certification)., • Must be able to work outdoors, in a team environment, for up to eight-hour shifts., • Must have a pleasant, professional demeanor., • Must be able to have patience with adults and children alike., • Previous guarding experience preferred but not required. As an Aquatics Lifeguard, you must be safety minded and customer service oriented. You will work in a fast-paced environment and will help to oversee state-of-the-art recreational and lap pools, both indoor and out. You will monitor the pool deck and maintain safety on water slides. You will help with aquatics events, such as "Dive in Movies" & "Poolapalooza." Job Duties and Responsibilities • Greets and interacts with Members, • Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid, • Ensures swimmers are aware of potentially dangerous swim areas and activities, • Keeps the pool area clean and orderly to ensure the safety of the Members Position Requirements • Working towards a High School Diploma or GED, • Lifeguard and First Aid Certified, • Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time, • Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services, • Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping, • Ability to tread water for 1 minute, • Ability to swim, retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swim the brick to the top without stopping, • Ability to routinely bend to raise more than 20 lbs Preferred Requirements • 6 months of customer service experience Life Time is a place for everyone. Duties and Responsibilities: • Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the school is running per GSS standard operating procedures., • Manages the staff of the GSS location(s) to ensure high productivity, excellent performance and positive employee satisfaction., • Trains and oversees all staff to provide superior swim instruction to the students of GSS and the highest level of customer service. Interacts with the staff on all issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance and training., • Provides sales and marketing training to all qualified sales staff., • Provides direction in the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing is achieved., • Trains and oversees private party staff to ensure that the GSS standard operating procedures are being maintained., • Gains knowledge and experience in all technology to achieve a high level of competence in customer maintenance, bookings, class scheduling, reporting and administrative functions., • Gains a high level of knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment., • Manages financial responsibilities including weekly cash deposits, cash reconciliation, tilling off process, financial documentation, and budgeting., • Initiates and oversees workplace culture and employee interaction. Maintain a high level of employee satisfaction., • Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and all safety procedures that pertain to the GSS facility. Trains all current staff on the GSS EAP., • Gains knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment including proper pool chemistry and pump room operation., • Maintains current required certifications for self and all staff., • Schedules staff and manages payroll., • Expert in all roles and responsibilities in the swim school, • Work 1 shift per week in a lifeguard/swim instructor capacity, • Fulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Employer. Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications or equivalent is desired. Experience as youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor or aquatics instructor/supervisor is preferred. Three to five years management experience is preferred. Certificates and Licenses: Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED and Certified Pool Operator certifications required or be able to obtain these certifications within 90 days of start date. Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred. Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
