Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Behavioral Health Coordinator II provides behavioral health leadership and coordination within MWVCAA's re-entry programs, delivering integrated, housing-focused behavioral health services to individuals enrolled in the Housing 360 Pilot program. This position plays a key role in implementing MWVCAA Housing 360 Pilot Program, supporting behavioral health integration, after-hours mental health crisis response, cross-system collaboration, and housing stability outcomes for individuals exiting incarceration. The Behavioral Health Coordinator II also provides clinical guidance and support to program staff and may be required to work various shifts outside of their regular schedule, including night and weekends, to ensure timely crisis intervention and continuity of care. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field, with current Oregon licensure, and at least two years of relevant experience in behavioral health or social services., • Experience working with high-acuity populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or justice-involved or re-entry populations., • Experience providing or coordinating mental health crisis response, including risk assessment, de-escalation, and stabilization in shelter or community-based settings., • Driver qualifications are required for this position. Valid driver license, insured vehicle available for use on the job, and a satisfactory drive record for the previous three years are required., • Current, valid Oregon license in a behavioral health discipline permitting independent clinical practice, maintained in good standing throughout employment., • Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment., • Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings., • Proficiency in electronic documentation systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, databases, and web-based platforms, with the ability to document services and outcomes accurately and in compliance with program and funding requirements., • Knowledge of behavioral health best practices, including trauma-informed care, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and housing-focused service models., • Ability to interpret and apply program policies, procedures, and governmental regulations while supporting client-centered services delivery., • Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills, including the ability to assess risk, prioritize safety, and respond effectively to mental health crises in shelter, housing, and community-based settings., • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required. • Conducts behavioral health, needs, and risk assessments and develops individualized, housing-focused support plans to address client needs, goals, and barriers to housing stability., • Provides clinical judgement and guidance to program leadership and staff based on assessment findings, incident trends, and emerging behavioral health needs., • Responds to mental health crises, employing de-escalation techniques and making timely decisions to promote safety for participants, staff, and the broader community., • Collaborates with program leadership to develop, implement, and refine assessment tools, protocols, and response practices, recommending modifications as needed., • Participates in leadership and multidisciplinary meetings to provide behavioral health insight related to program operations, incidents, and client outcomes., • Monitors participant progress and maintains complete, accurate, timely, and defensible documentation, including assessments, case notes, incident records, and resident files, sufficient to withstand internal review, external monitoring, and audit, in accordance with agency policy, funder requirements, and applicable law., • Coordinates and facilitates behavioral health–informed groups, workshops, and supportive activities, adapting content based on engagement, acuity, and individual or group needs., • Provides clinical guidance and support to resident services staff, reinforcing adherence to agency safety policies, trauma-informed practices, and appropriate response protocols., • Maintains active collaboration with co-located and community partners, including behavioral health providers, housing programs, and other system partners, to support coordinated service delivery., • Consistent punctuality and reliable attendance are essential requirements for this role.
