Position Summary The Construction Program Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the delivery of home repair and rehabilitation projects throughout assigned service areas. This position maintains a balance of fieldwork and office-based responsibilities, requiring regular visits to active job sites to monitor progress, verify quality, and ensure compliance with program and funding requirements. The Coordinator works closely with the Regional Construction Manager and District Program Manager to oversee all construction phases, from permitting and procurement through final inspection, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. The Construction Program Coordinator serves as the on-site representative of RTGFL, maintaining consistent communication with subcontractors, inspectors, homeowners, and community partners to ensure the highest standards of workmanship, safety, and homeowner satisfaction. Essential Responsibilities • Manage assigned construction projects from start to completion, including scopes of work, scheduling, and quality control., • Conduct regular field inspections to assess progress, verify workmanship, and ensure adherence to safety standards and scopes of work., • Oversee permitting, inspection coordination, and compliance with all local, state, and funding regulations., • Coordinate field logistics, including site readiness, materials delivery, and contractor scheduling., • Communicate daily with program and construction teams to report progress, address field issues, and maintain clear project updates., • Document field observation and upload photos, updates and reports using Sharepoint, Salesforce and other approved systems., • Track material orders, invoices, and expenses to ensure alignment with budgets and funding requirements., • Ensure safety compliance on all job sites, performing periodic safety inspections and reinforcing adherence to OSHA and RTGFL standards., • Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and community partners., • Serve as the main liaison for homeowners, ensuring they are informed and supported throughout the project., • Participate in volunteer build days, community engagement events, and outreach activities that support RTGFLs mission., • Provide on-site guidance and support to volunteers and staff during construction and community build events., • Assist with administrative coordination, including project documentation, budgeting updates, and communication between the construction and finance teams. Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of experience in residential construction, home rehabilitation, or project coordination (nonprofit or grant-funded experience preferred)., • Knowledge of construction practices, permitting, inspections, and safety standards., • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce, and construction management software (e.g., BuilderTrend or similar)., • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment., • Willingness to travel within assigned district; occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Additional Requirements • Ability to perform moderate physical tasks, including lifting up to 20 lbs and navigating active construction sites., • Valid Florida drivers license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance., • Ability to work outdoors and adapt to changing site and weather conditions. Work Environment The Construction Program Coordinator divides their time between the field and the office, typically spending about half of their workweek visiting active job sites across their assigned region. While some administrative work is completed in the office or remotely, the role requires regular in-person engagement to ensure project quality, homeowner communication, and contractor accountability. Field conditions may include exposure to heat, dust, uneven terrain, and other elements typical of residential construction environments.
