Job DescriptionMedical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse (MA/LPN) Job Description This role provides direct clinical support in specialty clinic settings, including Urology and ENT. You will room patients, assist providers during examinations and treatments, maintain clean and organized exam rooms, and support smooth clinic operations. The position involves working with electronic health records, coordinating patient flow, and delivering a positive patient experience in a fast-paced outpatient environment. Responsibilities • Room up to approximately 25 patients per day, including verifying patient identity, obtaining vital signs, documenting chief complaints, and updating medical histories., • Assist providers during examinations and procedures in Urology and ENT clinics, ensuring patients are comfortable and prepared., • Prepare examination and treatment rooms before each visit, ensuring supplies, instruments, and equipment are stocked and ready for use., • Clean and maintain examination and treatment rooms and clinical equipment according to clinic protocols and infection control standards., • Accurately document patient information and clinical data in the electronic health record (EHR) system., • Support providers by setting up and handing instruments and supplies during procedures as appropriate to scope of practice., • Assist with patient flow by coordinating rooming, keeping providers informed of patient status, and helping maintain clinic schedules., • Answer phones as needed, including routing calls, taking messages, and providing basic information to patients in a professional manner., • Collaborate with providers, nurses, and other clinic staff to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care., • Follow all clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to patient care, safety, and confidentiality. Essential Skills • Experience performing rooming duties in an outpatient clinic, including collecting vital signs and patient histories., • Proficiency in charting and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems., • Hands-on medical assisting experience in a clinical setting., • Medical Assistant Diploma from a program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES (clinical-only Medical Assistant programs are not considered), OR completion of a state-approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program., • Current licensure in good standing with the Board of Nursing for candidates applying as an LPN., • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification., • Basic computer skills, including navigating EHRs and standard office applications., • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage a steady flow of patients., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff., • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Eligibility and willingness to transition to a permanent role, which will require Medical Assistant certification if hired as a Medical Assistant., • Prior experience working in specialty clinics such as Urology or ENT., • Comfort working in a fast-paced clinic with a high volume of patients., • Demonstrated ability to travel between multiple clinic locations as scheduled., • Commitment to patient-centered care and a positive patient experience. Work Environment This position is based in outpatient Urology and ENT clinics with one opening in Urology and one opening in ENT. Primary scheduling occurs at a clinic in St. Louis Park, with additional scheduled days at either Maple Grove or Burnsville, depending on preference. Typical schedules run Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with ENT clinics generally operating from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Urology clinics operating in similar daytime ranges (for example, approximately 7:30–4:00 p.m. or 7:45–4:15 p.m.), providing a consistent weekday schedule. The role requires traveling 2–3 days per week between assigned clinic locations. You will work in modern clinical environments equipped with electronic health record systems and standard medical equipment used in Urology and ENT practices. The setting is fast-paced and team-oriented, with frequent patient contact and close collaboration with providers and clinical staff. Professional clinical attire appropriate for an outpatient medical setting is expected. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis Park, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
