Job Description Fleet Manager Location: Fort Worth, TX | Multi-site | Travel Required (25-50%) Job Summary The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance, maintenance, safety, and compliance of Reeder Distributors' vehicle fleet across multiple locations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cost control within our transportation and logistics operations. This position includes majority office-based work; however, some of the time will be spent traveling to Reeder locations to support fleet operations, inspect equipment, and work directly with local teams and vendors. Key Responsibilities • Support and oversee day-to-day fleet operations, including trucks, vehicles, and heavy-duty equipment, vans, and tank trailers, • Monitor vehicle utilization and work with operations to balance fleet assets across locations, • Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, inspected, and serviced in accordance with Company standards and all applicable regulations, • Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs with internal teams and third-party service providers, • Conduct follow-up inspections on vendor repairs to verify safety, quality, and completeness, • Serve as a liaison between operations and repair facilities to ensure timely repairs and return-to-service, • Maintain accurate fleet records, including inspections, registrations, insurance, and compliance documentation, • Implement and utilize fleet management systems and reporting tools to track performance, costs, and compliance, • Assist with development and management of fleet budgets, including maintenance, fuel, leasing, and procurement, • Audit vendor pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality, • Provide training and guidance on safety practices, vehicle operation, and Company policies, • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across all fleet locations, • Prepare regular reports and recommendations for leadership related to fleet performance, costs, and compliance, • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, safety, and leadership teams to align fleet strategy with business needs, • Stay informed on industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory changes impacting fleet operations Qualifications • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operational environment, • Three (3) to five (5) years of fleet maintenance or fleet operations experience preferred, • A minimum of three (3) years of team leadership experience in a performance-driven operational setting, • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Associate degree or technical school training preferred, • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills, • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and web-based applications, • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, • Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the role, • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the workweek, • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle maintenance practices, and fleet technologies Safety and Regulatory Requirements • This position is designated as safety-sensitive and regulated under applicable Department of Transportation standards, • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and perform duties safely at all times, • Must adhere to all DOT, OSHA, and Reeder Distributors safety and maintenance policies, • Must accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others Preferred Skills • Experience managing fleets across multiple locations or regions, • Familiarity with fleet sustainability initiatives, fuel efficiency, or emerging technologies, • Fleet management certification (e.g., NAFA CAFM) is a plus, • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, • High attention to detail with a focus on compliance and documentation Physical Requirements • Ability to move frequently between office, yard, and shop environments, • Regular standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands and arms, • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, • Ability to safely work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms, • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions, • Must be able to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate environments with moving vehicles and heavy equipment WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HERE • Health Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (vacation and sick time), 401(k) retirement plan, • Additional Perks: Paid weekly, free uniforms, advancement opportunities, and a supportive team environment COMPANY OVERVIEW Since 1973, Reeder Distributors, Inc. has been a family-owned and operated company built on reliability, customer service, and quality.
