Job Description POSITION DESCRIPTION The Marketing Proposal Specialist will support our Aviation, Transportation, Development, Facilities, Structural, and Federal business units. This position will support the growth of the firm's business and client base. This Marketing Proposal Specialist will be a part of the Business Development (Marketing & Sales) team and will work closely with the firm's leaders to turn RFPs into persuasive proposals. This position is based in AVCON's Orlando, Florida office. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (may include but are not limited to): Proposal and Pursuit Presentation (50%) • Responsible for coordinating, writing, editing, and producing statements of qualifications (SOQ), proposals, presentations, and other marketing collateral., • Guide the development and execution of go/no-go decision-making, planning, and win strategies to capture work successfully., • Identify and monitor SOQ/proposal criteria, and ensure the response is fully compliant., • Handle production and arrange for on-time delivery of SOQs/proposals., • Assist in pursuit strategy and interview coaching., • Develop/maintain sector-focused boilerplate to be used as a master in proposals., • Provide significant support to and/or take ownership of proposal sections of major strategic pursuits., • Work with technical staff to develop proposal sections, fees, and scopes of work., • Gather content from the team and consultants as needed., • Participate in the interview preparation process and assist teams with developing and rehearsing presentations., • Develop firm qualification packages., • Maintain scheduling and tracking systems for individual pursuit and proposal elements and status., • Serve as the lead regional marketer for a specific market(s)., • Maintain a deep understanding of each Business Unit's capabilities and experience, key trends, and drivers impacting the market, and translate them into actionable marketing content and win strategies., • Partner with the BD and Technical staff to develop market-specific content and collateral for internal and external use., • Lead or support key Business Unit initiatives including thought leadership and events., • Lead brand building including the development of key market-level messaging., • Assist in capture planning strategy and research., • Gather research data related to clients; and competitors; past, current, and prospective markets; and relevant corporate experience., • Monitor online and print sources, including newspapers, magazines, and blogs., • Work with Business Unit leaders to help manage seller-doer schedules to maintain regular client interactions., • Work with our Media and Public Relations Specialist to coordinate trade show schedules with regional offices and corporate, research, recommend, and determine appropriate shows to attend, and assist with travel arrangements and registrations., • Support and update the firmwide database with employee, project, and proposal information continuously., • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English or related field or equivalent experience., • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in the A/E/C industry., • Basic understanding of Architecture, Engineering & Construction industry terminology and procedures., • Understanding of basic marketing and business development principles., • Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant graphic applications., • Working knowledge of CRM software and resources. Experience with Deltek Vision, desired., • Advanced technical, graphic, presentation development, and presentation skills., • Passionate about the efforts to promote the firm to new and existing clients., • Self-starter/Entrepreneurial., • Demonstrated written and oral communication, editing and proofreading skills., • Attention to detail and understanding of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking., • Experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment., • Ability to communicate complex concepts and storytelling in both written and graphic form., • Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work (independently or with others)., • Excellent time and project management skills, passion for details, and ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining high quality and accuracy., • Ability to contribute creative/strategic insight while participating in brainstorming and strategy development. Ability to utilize a theme-based approach when developing proposals, presentations, and other marketing materials. Must be able to successfully mentor and provide pursuit oversight for marketing staff. ENVIRONMENT Work usually takes place in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting. Site visits may occasionally take place in an outdoor environment. Nights and weekends are generally not required but may occasionally be necessary with little or no advanced notice.
