Job Description Offit Kurman, an Am Law 200 firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to support its Litigation & Family Law practice in Hackensack, NJ. This role is ideal for a highly organized legal professional with strong litigation support experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys while delivering exceptional service to clients and maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality. Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys within the Litigation & Family Law practice., • Manage complex calendars, schedule meetings, court appearances, depositions, and client appointments., • Draft, proofread, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and court filings., • Prepare, file, and serve legal documents through state and federal e-filing systems and coordinate physical filings when necessary., • Coordinate new client and matter intake, including opening files and maintaining accurate client records., • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files, pleadings, discovery, and trial binders., • Monitor case deadlines, court dates, and attorney calendars to ensure timely completion of all matters., • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendors., • Assist with litigation case management, trial preparation, and document organization., • Process expense reports, reimbursements, and other administrative requests., • Provide reception and administrative backup support as needed., • Maintain confidentiality of all client and firm information., • Perform additional administrative duties to support attorneys and the overall practice group.Qualifications, • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience., • 3+ years of legal administrative assistant or legal secretary experience within a law firm or professional services environment., • Prior experience supporting Litigation and/or Family Law attorneys strongly preferred., • Experience preparing, formatting, proofreading, and filing legal documents., • Knowledge of state and federal court filing procedures., • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail., • Strong client service skills and the ability to build professional relationships with clients and colleagues., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)., • Experience using document management and client management systems., • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment.
