Job Description Position Summary The Operations Director is accountable for leading and managing all aspects of the company's day-to-day operations in El Monte, CA. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of the freight forwarding and logistics industry, and the ability to optimize operations for maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction. The Operations Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless business operations and contribute to the company's growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement long-term and short-term operational strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives., • Analyze market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for operational improvement and innovation., • Participate in the company's strategic planning process, providing insights and recommendations based on operational expertise to support business expansion and diversification., • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team. Set clear performance expectations and KPIs for team members and conduct regular performance evaluations., • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that promotes innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement., • Collaborate with the customer service team to promptly resolve customer complaints and inquiries related to operations. Ensure that customer feedback is used to drive continuous service improvement., • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, carriers, and other service providers to secure favorable terms and pricing. Manage supplier relationships and compliance with contractual obligations., • Ensure that all operations comply with relevant local, national, and international regulations, including customs regulations, transportation laws, and safety standards. Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to the operation, • Drive process innovation and automation initiatives to streamline operations, reduce manual errors, and enhance productivity. Encourage employees to suggest and implement process improvements. Qualifications and Requirements • A bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is required. A master's degree is highly desirable., • At least 10 years of progressive experience in operations management within the freight forwarding and logistics industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role., • Experience in implementing operational strategies and process improvements to drive efficiency, cost savings, and service quality., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities., • Willingness to travel as needed, both domestically and internationally, to meet with clients, suppliers, and team members., • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
