Job DescriptionPhlebotomist – Floater - 1st Shift Alternate/Related Job Titles: • Traveling Phlebotomist, • Mobile Phlebotomy Technician, • Position Type: Contract, • Contract Duration: 14 weeks, • Start: As Soon As Possible, • Hospital site with additional credentialing required, • Multi-site coverage requiredJob Summary:The Phlebotomist III – Float provides high-quality blood collection services across multiple patient service settings, acting as the face of the organization for patients seeking routine or critical diagnostic testing. This role supports several locations and may oversee daily activities, guide team members, and provide onboarding for new staff or new client sites. The Phlebotomist III – Float must demonstrate exceptional technical, customer service, and leadership skills to support high-volume and high-complexity practices.Key Responsibilities:, • Perform high-quality venipuncture and specimen preparation in accordance with established procedures., • Provide coverage across multiple locations including PSC, mobile, long-term care, and in-office phlebotomy sites., • Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients through clear communication and safe practice., • Ensure all daily PSC/mobile/IOP activities are completed accurately and on schedule., • Mentor, coach, and support new employees; provide onboarding support to new client sites., • Act as point of contact for staff and communicate updates to group leads or supervisors., • Lead one or more PSRs onsite when needed., • Work with high-complexity or high-volume practices requiring advanced phlebotomy expertise., • Collaborate with Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT Connectivity, Billing, and Logistics for specialty or complex test orders., • Navigate multiple priorities in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.Required Education:, • High school diploma or equivalent, • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred, • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WARequired Experience:, • 5 years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, • 3+ years PSC/IOP experience preferred, • Customer service experience preferred, • Keyboarding/data entry skillsRequired Skills:, • Advanced phlebotomy skills (pediatric/geriatric/capillary), • Multi-site floating and coverage, • Patient communication & customer servicePreferred Skills:, • Medical assistant or paramedic background, • PSC/IOP operations, • Experience supporting high-volume clinical workflowsAdditional Skills:, • Leadership and mentoring, • Complex practice support, • Collaboration with cross-functional internal teams, • Onboarding new staff and new client sites, • High-volume multitasking and prioritizationBenefits:, • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans, • 401k Retirement FundAbout the Company:Leading provider of diagnostic information services empowering healthier lives.
