Job Description Job Title: Dining Room Server/Supervisor Classification: Non-Exempt Role Description Dallas Country Club is currently seeking a qualified individual for a Dining Room Server/Supervisor. The Dining Room Server/Supervisor is a dual role and they will spit their time between being the Dining Room Supervisor and being a Server. The amount these roles will be split will be determined on what is needed in the dining room and by the Food and Beverage Manager. Key Responsibilities as Supervisor • Assist in maintaining a highly motivated and well-trained staff on menu/job knowledge and daily specials., • Ensure staff keep areas/grounds free of debris for presentation and safety., • Open and close shift in accordance with manager's checklist., • Train, maintain and enforce all DCC service standards using use records, menus, and appropriate reference materials., • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all associates and Members., • Assist with Management in gathering and implementing all proper tools for running shifts, (e.g., schedules, floor plans, reservations, checks)., • Assists the dining room manager and other employees in assuring that the club's policies and procedures for serving alcoholic beverages are consistently followed., • Find solutions for problems such as call outs, last-minute bookings or any other daily problems that may arise., • Be on the floor during the entire meal period and ensure adequate coverage., • Ensure all opening and closing side work is done daily., • Ensure staff are keeping patios/verandas/bar/dining rooms free of debris, ready for weather, and safe., • Maintain proper associate uniform standards., • Assist any associate in his/her job performance, when required, to ensure guest satisfaction., • Supervisor area of responsibility to include Lead Trainer for Service Staff, Side-Work and Opening Closing Duties for Servers and Server Assistants, Pre-Shift Topics and Motivational Games Key Responsibilities as a Server • Greets Members and guests as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided., • Answers questions regarding the menu items with the knowledge to Suggestively sell beverages and menu items., • Takes food and beverage orders and informs culinary team about any special cooking instructions/modifications., • Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to Members and guests., • Ensures that food is prepared correctly to the Members and guest's satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen. Keeps managers informed of any issues that might affect quality or timing of service., • Collects plates and clears the table as Members and guests finish their meals., • Presents dessert menus, suggests, and serves dessert, coffee, and after-dinner drinks., • Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and set upside station and performs assigned prep work., • Performs other related duties as assigned. Complete all assigned pre-shift side duties in a timely manner., • Attends pre-service training (line-up meeting)., • Thanks Members and guests, invite them to return. The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge: • High School degree or equivalent required., • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred., • Minimum of 2 years food service or related hospitality management experience., • TABC Certification and Food Handlers Card Required, • Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcoholic beverages., • Must have basic knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine., • Written/verbal communication skills., • Demonstrated leadership qualities., • Must be Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficient The ideal candidate will have the following competencies and qualities: • Able to work with teams., • Basic technical knowledge of restaurant operations., • Demonstrated hospitality skills., • Demonstrated strong work ethic., • Ability to work well as a team., • Interacting with members and co-workers in a helpful, positive, upbeat, and professional manner, • Positive interpersonal skills., • Ability to perform well under pressure., • Have a sense of urgency during service., • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills., • Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately., • Ability to operate point-of-sale systems. Previous knowledge of touch screen POS systems - preferred., • Must be available to work weekends and rotating shifts especially PM availability and holidays., • Ability to anticipate and respond to guests needs., • Takes Pride in Appearance and Job performance.
