Job Description The Floater / Substitute is responsible for assisting the classroom lead teacher with the general supervision and management of a class of children. He or she must be knowledgeable in developmental appropriate practices; have flexible hours that cover the needs of the center. The Floater / Substitute is responsible for assisting teachers in supervising all children in their room ensuring activities and curriculum are adhered to as required by the Director. RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for planning and implementing proprietary curriculum, and completing assessments and reports for the children, • Helps and supervises children during all activities, • Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise, • Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained, • Helps children with meal times and clean-up, • Helps with all academy and classroom paperwork, such as daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports, • Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested, • Must be at least 18 years old, • Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position, • Must be able to adapt to teaching in any of the classrooms, • Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality, • Highly professional and dependable, • Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels as well as with parents, coworkers, and management, • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, sit on the floor and interact with children
