Comprised of the two Educare Omaha Schools (Kellom and Indian Hill) and three Early Learning Centers (Skinner, Gateway and Kennedy), the mission of Educare of Omaha, Inc. is to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 0 to 5 through the provision of evidence-based education, health, nutritional, social, family engagement and other services to enrolled children and their families. ⭐ POSITION DETAILS The Substitute Teacher plays an essential role in the classroom by providing educational, social, and emotional development for all students by following the program standards of Educare of Omaha, Early Head Start, Sixpence, Nebraska Department of Education, and NAEYC. The Substitute Teacher enhances student learning during the period of absence of the regular classroom teacher. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining the program’s educational requirement as well as meeting the children’s individual needs. ???? LOCATION Assigned to one Educare school (Kellom, Indian Hill, Skinner, Gateway, or Kennedy) ???? SCHEUDLE Temporary Full-time and Temporary Part-time (8-40 hours per week) Two Substitute Opportunities Available ???? Tier 1 – Center-Based On-Call Floater • Flexible, on-call schedule (up to 3 shifts per week), • Assigned to one Educare school (Kellom, Indian Hill, Skinner, Gateway, or Kennedy), • Provide classroom coverage for daily absences, planning blocks, or short-term needs, • Great fit for candidates seeking flexibility and experience in early childhood settings???? Tier 2 – Vacancy Coverage Pool, • Provide a set schedule bi-weekly, • Provide consistent support in a set classroom to one Educare school where there is an ongoing vacancy, • Float across Educare sites as needed, • Help maintain continuity of care and instruction for children and families ⭐ POSITION DETAILS • Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates., • Proficiency in maintaining efficient classroom management., • Take necessary and reasonable actions to ensure the safety of children, materials, and center equipment., • Ensure a sustainable relationship with parents, pupils, school personnel, and members of the public by communicating in a confidential, polite, and refined manner., • Ability to comply with written and oral instructions. ⭐ EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required., • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in education (Early Childhood preferred) preferred., • An Active CDA, or willingness to obtain (if working 30 hours or more weekly), • Two years early childhood experience in a group setting preferred., • Must be able to pass a background check that meets compliance standards. ⭐ WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU? ✔️ Generous Paid Time Off: • Hourly rate of $20 per hour, • Medical premiums starting at $40.32 per paycheck, • No copays for mental health therapy, • Dental, vision, FSA, life insurance, short-term disability, and more, • Ongoing coaching and professional development, • Obtain your Child Development Associate (CDA) certification at no cost, • Tuition assistance available, • No contracts, • Smaller class sizes (8–17 students), • Additional teacher support in every classroom Substitute Teachers and Assistants are eligible for insurance benefits if working 30+ hours per week.
