Position Summary The Concrete Superintendent provides hands-on leadership across our commercial and industrial concrete operations. This role is responsible for field execution, crew leadership, safety, quality, and production performance on complex concrete and tilt-up projects. The Superintendent will have direct authority over field means and methods, crew assignments, sequencing, and daily production decisions. This position requires a strong background in concrete carpentry and tilt-up construction, the ability to lead multiple foremen and crews, and the judgment to manage high-risk, high-production operations such as large pours, elevated placements, and panel erection. This is a working, field-first leadership role suited for a superintendent who can plan, lead, and execute—not manage from a trailer. Key Responsibilities General • Lead and supervise concrete construction operations at various project sites, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications, • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software, • Oversee daily site activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, quality control, and safety compliance aligned with OSHA standards, • Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to verify work scope and ensure proper execution of concrete pours and related tasks, • Manage project budgets by tracking costs, reviewing contracts, and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality, • Conduct regular site inspections using tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing or other specialized equipment to ensure technical accuracy, • Maintain detailed documentation including progress reports, incident logs, safety records, and quality control reports using Bluebeam or other digital tools, • Lead pre-construction planning efforts, including pour sequencing, manpower loading, formwork strategies, crane utilization, access/logistics planning, and schedule alignment, • Participate in constructability reviews and assist project management with means-and-methods planning, • Direct and oversee concrete carpentry and tilt-up operations, including:, • Layout and control lines, • Formwork systems (gang forms, tilt tables, elevated decks), • Embeds, block-outs, and anchor coordination, • Panel casting, lifting, bracing, and erection coordination, • Supervise and support multiple foremen and field crews across active jobsites, • Assign crews, equipment, and work areas to maximize production, safety, and quality, • Maintain a strong on-site presence during critical operations:, • Large-volume pours, • Elevated placements, • Panel lifts and bracing installation, • Enforce company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety plans, • Lead and verify compliance with critical lift plans, bracing plans, fall protection, and excavation safety, • Conduct jobsite safety walks, JHAs, and corrective action follow-up, • Ensure work is installed per drawings, specifications, and industry best practices, • Monitor tolerances, finishes, embed accuracy, and panel quality, • Review and validate daily labor hours, equipment usage, and production quantities, • Track pour sizes, cycle times, panel counts, and crew productivity, • Identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement and communicate them to leadership, • Serve as Broughton Concrete’s primary field representative with GCs, owners, inspectors, and engineers, • Communicate clearly, professionally, and solutions-oriented in all interactions, • Coordinate closely with project management to maintain schedule and budget alignment, • Travel as required to support projects across multiple locations Required • 7+ years of commercial or industrial concrete construction experience, • Proven superintendent or senior lead foreman experience on concrete projects, • Demonstrated expertise in tilt-up construction, including:, • Panel casting and erection, • Bracing systems, • Lift planning and crane coordination, • Strong background in concrete carpentry, including:, • Formwork systems, • Layout and control, • Embeds, sleeves, and block-outs, • Experience with:, • Large slab-on-grade pours, • Elevated decks, • High-volume concrete placements, • Ability to read, interpret, and build from construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings, • Proven ability to lead, train, and hold foremen and crews accountable, • Strong working knowledge of jobsite safety requirements, including:, • OSHA standards, • Critical lifts, • Bracing safety, • Experience with daily reports, time tracking, and production metrics, • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, • OSHA 30 (OSHA 10 minimum required, • Bilingual (English / Spanish), • Experience with production tracking tools or construction software, • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience, • Health insurance, • 401(k) with company match, • Paid time off (PTO) and company holidays
