Job DescriptionSummary of Position The Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for toddlers. This role supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development by implementing age-appropriate activities, maintaining consistent routines, and providing positive guidance. The Toddler Teacher works collaboratively with other classroom staff and communicates regularly with families and school leadership to ensure the well-being and growth of each child. Program & Curriculum * Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with toddler developmental milestones * Create a warm, engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning * Support consistent classroom routines, transitions, and daily schedules * Use positive guidance and redirection techniques to support appropriate behavior * Observe and document each child’s development and progress * Maintain accurate classroom records including attendance and daily reports * Ensure classroom materials, toys, and equipment are clean, safe, and developmentally appropriate * Sanitize toys, learning materials, and classroom surfaces regularly according to health guidelines * Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding children’s activities, progress, and needs Child Supervision * Provide constant supervision to ensure children’s safety at all times * Support toddlers with basic care needs including diapering/toileting, handwashing, feeding, and rest time * Maintain safe classroom environments and follow all health and safety protocols * Respond appropriately and promptly to accidents, injuries, or emergencies * Maintain a calm, patient, and responsive approach to toddler behavior Team Collaboration * Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and other staff * Support classroom organization, schedules, and daily operations * Foster a respectful and positive team environment * Share observations and updates with classroom staff to support consistent care Administrative Responsibilities * Communicate classroom needs, concerns, and updates with school leadership * Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities * Maintain required documentation and reports in a timely manner * Follow all center policies, procedures, and licensing requirements * Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director Knowledge The Toddler Teacher must have knowledge in the following areas: * Toddler growth and developmental milestones * Early childhood education best practices * Health, safety, and supervision standards for young children Skills The Toddler Teacher must demonstrate the following skills: * Effective classroom management and teaching skills * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Organizational and time-management abilities * Ability to collaborate with a classroom team Personal Attributes The Toddler Teacher must demonstrate the following attributes: * Patient, nurturing, and dependable * Professional and ethical in conduct * Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment * Respectful, compassionate, and consistent in interactions with children and families In person / Full Time Job
