This Utilities Technician will be responsible to maintain boilers and utilities including air compressors, water treatment systems and generators. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Operate plant utilities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, • Run and monitor plant boilers and utilities including water testing, • Monitor and maintain fire protection system, • Monitor and manage fuel inventory including wood chips, LP gas and diesel fuel, • Utilize both, manual and automated control systems to monitor and adjust utilities as needed to maintain proper operation, • Perform water testing, light maintenance and prepare equipment to enable others to safely perform maintenance, • Follow and complete all daily logs and system test as specified, • Calibrate and maintain gas monitors throughout the plant, • Ensure compliance with operating procedures, quality management and safety and environmental procedures, • Respond to emergency situations within the limits of training and qualifications, • Perform general housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean work area, • Other duties in support of company objectives, • Consistent with MANE’s environmental commitments, every employee shall actively participate in relevant education/training based upon corporate and local environmental objectives. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • H.S Diploma, • Experience in maintenance and/or plant utilities is preferred, • Display of high mechanical aptitude, • Proficiency with computers, • Effective oral and written communication skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating AM & PM shift schedule to staff a 24/7 operation, • Ability to perform essential physical functions of the position including climbing stairs, ladders and lifting 55 lbs., • Ability to enter confined spaces while wearing a respirator and performing maintenance OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to work holidays and overtime as required by schedule, • Ability to coach and be coached, • Ability to be safe, innovate, flexible, self-starting, honest and open, • Ability to work as a member of an integrated team, • Experience in maintenance and/or plant utilities MANE offers industry leading benefits including a generous PTO plan.
