Job Description WHAT YOU’LL DO As the Manager, Client HR, you’ll lead a team of seasoned HR professionals and employment law attorneys who serve as the highest level of HR expertise within ProService. You’ll play a key role in delivering strategic guidance that helps our clients stay compliant, reduce risk, and build stronger workplaces. This role demands a balance of expert-level HR knowledge, operational excellence, and people leadership. You’ll be accountable for team performance, client outcomes, and evolving our consulting services to meet the changing needs of Hawaii’s employers. * Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing HR Consulting team, ensuring service delivery meets defined KPIs and quality standards * Drive consultative excellence by equipping the team with tools, processes, and training to deliver strategic, risk-aware advice to clients * Serve as an expert advisor on complex HR issues, helping clients navigate regulatory requirements and improve their people strategies * Mitigate legal and compliance risk by supporting internal investigations, agency audits, and policy development * Develop and deliver internal HR training that equips both the Client HR team and other departments to handle Level 1 client issues with greater confidence and accuracy. * Identify knowledge gaps, create scalable content on HR compliance and best practices, and drive continuous improvement that enhances service quality and expands client value (e.g., I-9 audits). * Serve as a subject matter expert by staying current on HR laws, trends, and best practices—and translating complex information into clear, practical guidance for internal teams. WHAT YOU BRING You are a trusted leader with deep expertise and a rare blend of strategic HR or legal expertise, people leadership, and the ability to guide others through complexity and constant change. You thrive in ambiguity, coach seasoned professionals, and balance client needs with evolving compliance requirements—without ever losing sight of consultative quality or operational performance. You’re not just responsive; you’re a builder, a translator of complexity, and a trusted partner to both clients and internal teams. * Extensive experience providing strategic HR guidance and consultation, either: * As an employment law attorney or legal expert with people management experience, and a JD or active license to practice law in Hawaii; * As a senior HR consultant managing a large, diverse book of clients across multiple industries in a mid-size to large organizations; or * Head of HR of a mid-size or large growth company, who has a proven track record of building a strong people culture in the organization and improving its HR functions (hiring, retention, engagement). * Proven ability to align people, processes, and performance to drive strategic outcomes * Effective working across all levels of leadership, from frontline managers to the C-suite * Strong track record of solving complex, high-risk HR and employment issues in mid-to-large organizations WHY PROSERVICE At ProService Hawaii, we empower businesses and employees across the islands by delivering HR solutions that work.
