C2’s client, a new private high school in Ozaukee County opening its doors in Fall 2026, seeks a versatile contract Videographer & AV Meeting Specialist. This is a hands-on, project-based role combining technical AV support for meetings, video capture of events, and professional video editing. They specifically need someone for an upcoming fundraiser in November, an assignment that blends creative storytelling with on-the-ground AV savvy. Subsequent ongoing video shooting, editing and AV support is on-demand. About the Client This school was founded in response to nine consecutive years of declining test scores in the public system and is committed to academic excellence with a curriculum from a local college. The school’s approach is “no nonsense” and rooted in the classics, including Latin, great books, fine arts, history, civics, and rigorous STEM classes. Uniforms are required, and the environment is designed for families and students who want a focused, academically-rich alternative to the status quo. Start Date: October 2025, event coverage in early November; pre-event venue walkthrough required Duration: Project-based (event plus post-event editing) Location: Onsite in Ozaukee County, WI Compensation: Hourly rate, commensurate with experience - client would like to compensate different rates for shooting versus editing versus AV support Benefits: All C2 talent working 30+ hours/week for 30 days are eligible for medical, dental, optional vision, life insurance, 401(k) with match, and PTO accrual Technology: Talent must provide their own camera, audio, AV, and editing equipment/software unless otherwise specified Job Description This client seeks a one-person freelance “video army” for its relaxed, high-energy “Renovation Celebration” fundraiser and auction, a jeans-friendly party with live speakers and lots of candid action. The primary assignment is to film the event, capture the energy and key moments (both planned and spontaneous), and edit the footage into a strong, short-form story for the Academy’s future marketing and community engagement. The secondary assignment is working closely with the marketing team to ensure development of compelling content for the event AND support setting up/troubleshooting all AV for the event. Key Responsibilities • Attend a pre-event site meeting with the client to scout the gym venue and review the proposed shoot list and story board, • Provide estimates of time needed to complete shooting or editing requests, • Capture live event footage (speeches, crowd candids, auction action, B-roll) as both tripod shots and roaming handheld/gimbal based on an agreed shot list and independent judgment, • Record professional-quality audio of speakers, leveraging access to the event PA mixer if technically feasible (client will expect recommendations on best approach), • Curate and edit final clips into a compelling 3–5 minute video for post-event marketing, following the provided story board but also infusing creative judgment, • Collaborate closely with the client pre- and post-event to identify and deliver on all video objectives, communicating clearly when projects might exceed original estimate or are going beyond original scope, • Ensure all captured media is securely managed and promptly delivered in desired formats, • Assemble and edit video clips (testimonials, stock, B-roll, and prior footage) for use in this and other live meetings and presentations, • Set up, test, and troubleshoot AV equipment (projectors, laptops, audio) to ensure flawless execution for the fundraiser and future events/meetings, • Support live playback of video and audio content during the fundraiser, as well as future meetings, including last-minute adjustments as needed, • Dress “Construction Casual” (jeans) and maintain a friendly, professional presence throughout the fundraiser and represent the team at future events and meetings Qualifications Required: • Willingness and ability to provide estimates to the client for the time needed to complete projects/requested shooting and video edits, • Proven videography experience (including live events, speeches, and B-roll for marketing use), • Advanced video editing capabilities using Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent), • Technical skill with camera, audio, and AV gear; direct feed audio capture strongly preferred, • Resourceful, communicative, and able to independently manage entire shoot/edit workflow from pre-event prep to final cut, • Available for a pre-event venue tour and able to execute effectively in a semi-structured, dynamic party environment, • Technical savvy with AV equipment, projection, laptops, and troubleshooting (live event tech support) Nice to Have: • Experience with academic, non-profit, or fundraising events, • Familiarity with live event PA systems and direct audio feeds, • Ability to recommend best practices for live event A/V capture Not your type of gig, but know someone who would be interested?
