Job Description Position Title: Inventory Clerk Location: Houston, TX Assignment Type: Direct hire Compensation: $25 - $30 / hr Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7-3:30 pm . Position Overview The Inventory Clerk plays a key role in managing materials, spare parts, tools, and supplies within a manufacturing and warehouse environment. This position supports daily operations through accurate inventory control, safe material handling, and effective coordination with internal teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow and compliance with quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Materials & Inventory Management • Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials and shipments in accordance with established procedures, • Accurately enter receipts and transactions into inventory systems and maintain proper documentation, • Store materials in assigned locations to ensure organization, accessibility, and traceability, • Issue parts, tools, and supplies to internal personnel while maintaining accurate system records, • Prepare and process outbound shipments, including materials sent for repair, • Perform cycle counts and participate in full physical inventories, • Investigate, reconcile, and resolve inventory discrepancies, • Monitor material quality and quantities; flag concerns and initiate corrective actions when needed, • Track inventory levels, manage reorder points, and anticipate future material needs, • Collaborate with Purchasing, Accounting, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve receiving and invoicing issues, • Ensure compliance with inventory, quality, and chemical handling requirements, • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to materials management, • Maintain professional and respectful relationships with internal teams and external suppliers, • Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety requirements, • Demonstrate consistent attendance, reliability, and punctuality, • Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines, • Approach responsibilities with a safety‑first mindset, • Support operational coverage needs and demonstrate accountability in daily tasks, • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and MRO spare parts, • Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and physical inventories, • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel preferred), • Strong organizational, administrative, and record‑keeping skills, • Ability to balance physical warehouse work with computer‑based tasks, • Associate degree preferred, • Forklifts and material‑handling equipment, • Manual and powered pallet jacks, • Barcode scanners and inventory tracking systems This role is performed in a manufacturing and warehouse setting and may involve exposure to noise, temperature changes, dust, and other industrial conditions. The position requires frequent standing and walking, regular bending and reaching, and the ability to lift and move materials up to approximately 40 pounds independently (50 pounds with assistance). Candidates must be able to safely operate material‑handling equipment and effectively use computer systems and documentation tools.
