Their flagship game has already surpassed 4M downloads and, with a solid funding and a team of 35 passionate people, the studio is now accelerating its growth to reach the next level. They are currently looking for a Senior Game Designer - Product Owner to join one of their squads. In this role, you’ll take on a pivotal role in shaping the evolution of the game, focusing on the creation and fine-tuning of gameplay systems that are both engaging and fair. Your work will be central to delivering a seamless, competitive free-to-play (F2P) experience that resonates with players. With a blend of data-driven insights, community feedback, and your own strong design expertise, you’ll constantly refine and elevate the player journey. The role can be based in Lyon, with a "2-days per week at the office" policy. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Taking ownership of one of the game’s foundational pillars, ensuring alignment with the creative direction and overall project objectives., • Producing clear and comprehensive design documentation (GDDs, specifications, briefs) to align teams and drive execution., • Designing and balancing essential systems such as progression flows, reward structures, and core mechanics tailored to a competitive F2P MMORTS., • Defining the user experience vision for your features, ensuring intuitive usability, clear feedback, and accessible information., • Using player metrics and behavioral data to identify friction points, growth opportunities, and strategies to improve engagement and retention., • Conducting competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in the F2P and MMORTS domains., • Acting as the advocate for players, transforming community feedback into practical design updates., • Organizing and documenting internal playtests to capture insights and drive iteration., • Partnering closely with UX, development, and product teams to ensure designs are executed effectively and cohesively. REQUIREMENTS: Requirements: • 10+ years in game design, on mobile F2P and live-service games, • Strong expertise in system balancing, rewards, and progression mechanics (Excel, G. Sheets, Machinations), • Clear and structured documentation skills, • Comfortable with KPIs, dashboards, and data analysis, • Solid understanding of UX for game systems, • Passion for competitive, community-driven games; MMORTS experience is a plus, • Bonus: prototyping tools or engine knowledge, • Fluent in French and English Profile: • Collaborative and effective across creative, technical, and product teams, • Player-focused, curious, and iterative in your approach, • Proactive self-starter with strong design instincts and broad gaming culture, • Motivated to deliver accessible, rewarding systems that engage a loyal community If you’re passionate about crafting experiences that keep players engaged for years to come, we’d love to hear from you.
