La Petite Bretagne
Crepier / Experienced Chef
hace 21 días
£16–£20 por hora

London
JOIN LA PETITE BRETAGNE FULL-TIME CRÊPIER / CHEF At La Petite Bretagne, making crêpes is more than just cooking — it is craftsmanship. Every galette and crêpe that leaves our kitchen reflects our standards, attention to detail and pride in what we do. We are looking for an experienced Chef or Crêpier who is confident working independently, highly organised and able to stay calm under pressure. This is not an entry-level kitchen position. Previous crêpier experience is a major advantage, but it is not essential. We can teach you our recipes, techniques and standards. What we cannot teach from scratch is professional kitchen discipline, organisation, consistency and the ability to manage yourself during a busy service. Previous professional kitchen experience is essential. Long-term commitment only. No seasonal or short-term applications, please. THE REALITY OF THE ROLE We want to be completely transparent about the position before you apply. La Petite Bretagne is a small restaurant with a small kitchen team, which means that for a large part of your shifts, you will be expected to work independently and manage your section by yourself. There will not always be another chef next to you telling you what needs to be done. You need to be able to organise your own preparation, keep your section ready, manage multiple orders at the same time and stay in control when service becomes busy. That means strong organisation and the ability to work under pressure are extremely important. You will need to: • Organise your own mise en place., • Keep your section fully stocked and prepared., • Manage several orders at the same time., • Prioritise correctly during busy periods., • Work quickly without losing consistency., • Maintain excellent cleanliness throughout service., • Communicate clearly with the front-of-house team., • Stay calm and focused when the kitchen gets busy., • Take responsibility for your own section. If you need constant supervision or struggle to organise yourself during a busy service, this position will probably not suit you. If you enjoy being trusted, working independently and having ownership of your section, you will probably feel very comfortable here. YOUR ROLE As our Crêpier / Chef, you will be responsible for: • Preparing and cooking traditional savoury galettes and sweet crêpes., • Running your kitchen section independently., • Preparing ingredients and organising your mise en place., • Managing orders efficiently throughout service., • Maintaining consistency in every dish., • Monitoring stock levels., • Keeping your section prepared throughout the day., • Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards., • Keeping your workspace exceptionally clean and organised., • Communicating effectively with front of house., • Taking pride in every plate that leaves your section. ORGANISATION IS ESSENTIAL Being fast is important. Being organised while working fast is even more important. Our restaurant can become very busy, and because you will often be working independently, you need to think ahead. You should naturally be able to recognise: • What needs to be prepared next., • What is running low., • Which orders need priority., • How to organise your workspace efficiently., • How to stay clean while working quickly., • How to maintain the same standard when several orders arrive at once. We are looking for someone who does not wait to be told what to do. You see what needs doing and you do it. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR • Previous professional kitchen experience is essential., • Previous Crêpier experience is highly desirable., • Excellent organisational skills., • Strong time-management skills., • Confidence working independently., • Ability to remain calm under pressure., • Strong attention to detail., • Consistency in food preparation and presentation., • Excellent hygiene and cleanliness standards., • Reliability and punctuality., • Good communication skills., • Someone who takes genuine pride in their work., • Someone looking for a stable, long-term position. Applications from candidates without professional kitchen experience will not be considered. A SMALL, STABLE TEAM One of the biggest advantages of working at La Petite Bretagne is the environment. We have a small and established team, with people who have been with us for a long time. The atmosphere is friendly, calm and respectful. We are not a large kitchen with constant staff changes, unnecessary pressure or endless layers of management. You come in, do your job properly, work with a good team and go home. Once you are fully trained and comfortable with the restaurant, you will be trusted to work independently without somebody constantly standing over you. We believe good people perform better when they are trusted. WORK-LIFE BALANCE The job itself can be demanding during service, but the structure around the job is designed to give you stability. You will have: • Two consecutive days off every week., • A consistent weekly rota., • A rota that remains largely the same from week to week., • Rotas published approximately one month in advance., • The ability to organise your personal life properly., • A stable and predictable working routine., • A friendly and positive working environment. We take work seriously, but we also understand that people have a life outside the restaurant. For someone who values routine, stability and being able to plan ahead, La Petite Bretagne offers a very strong work-life balance. PAY & BENEFITS Your earnings are made up of: Salary + Service Charge + Tips + Performance Bonuses. Guaranteed 16£ minimum In addition, you will receive: • Competitive salary., • Generous service charge on top of salary., • Additional tips., • Performance-based bonuses., • Complimentary staff meals., • Employee discounts., • Full Crêpier training., • Two consecutive days off every week., • Stable weekly rota., • Rotas published approximately one month in advance., • Friendly and supportive working environment., • Recognition and performance-based rewards., • Opportunities to develop within the business. WHO WILL SUCCEED HERE? Someone who enjoys responsibility. Someone who is comfortable working independently. Someone who can walk into their section and organise themselves without waiting for instructions. Someone who stays calm when five orders arrive at once. Someone who understands that independence also means accountability. Someone who works cleanly, thinks ahead and takes pride in consistency. Someone who enjoys working with a small, stable team without unnecessary kitchen politics. And someone who wants a long-term position with strong earning potential, stability, independence and a genuinely good work-life balance. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

£42000–£52000 anual

Carnaby, London
£42,000–£52,000 per year Full-time | 45 hours per week Ria’s is a neighbourhood pizza and wine bar built around the simple pleasures of deep-pan pizza, natural wine and brilliant hospitality. We opened our first site in Notting Hill in 2023, followed by Soho in 2025, and we’re looking for an ambitious Assistant Manager to join the management team at Ria’s Soho. This is a hands-on management role with real ownership. You’ll work closely with the General Manager and Head Chef to run the site, lead and develop the team and ensure we consistently deliver the Ria’s experience - while taking direct responsibility for key areas of the business including stock performance, customer experience, training and team development. You’ll also work directly with the founders and management across both Ria’s sites, helping us operate as one business and continually improve how we do things. The Role As Assistant Manager, you’ll be a key part of the Soho management team and take ownership of both the day-to-day running of the restaurant and longer-term performance of the site. Service & Customer Experience You’ll be responsible for ensuring every service delivers the Ria’s standard. That means: • Leading busy services confidently and setting the standard on the floor, • Ensuring our Steps of Service are consistently followed across the FOH team, • Maintaining warm, efficient, knowledgeable and proactive hospitality, • Identifying issues during service and taking ownership of resolving them, • Driving consistency across everything from welcomes and product knowledge to check-backs, upselling and how we close the customer experience, • Owning customer feedback and reviews, identifying recurring themes and turning them into improvements, • Handling customer issues and complaints confidently and appropriately Team Leadership, Training & Development A big part of this role is building a brilliant, confident and consistent FOH team. You’ll: • Lead, motivate and manage the FOH team on shift, • Support the GM in onboarding and training new FOH team members, • Ensure every new starter understands our service standards, products and ways of working, • Deliver and coordinate ongoing FOH training across service, food, wine and hospitality, • Coach team members in real time and give clear, constructive feedback, • Work with the GM to identify development opportunities and progression within the team, • Help create a positive, high-performing culture built around accountability, teamwork and mutual respect, • Ensure standards don't slip when senior management isn't on the floor Stock & Commercial Performance You’ll have direct ownership of FOH stock management and performance. This includes: • Managing ordering, stock counts and stock levels, • Ensuring stock processes are accurate and consistently followed, • Monitoring weekly stock performance and ensuring the site operates within agreed targets, • Investigating variances and taking action when something isn't performing as expected, • Ensuring the right systems and training are in place to maintain strong stock control, • Understanding how day-to-day operational decisions affect the commercial performance of the restaurant We want someone who is comfortable with numbers and interested in understanding why something is happening, rather than simply reporting it. Site Operations Alongside the GM and Head Chef, you'll take responsibility for making sure Soho runs brilliantly day to day. You'll: • Take full responsibility for the restaurant when leading a shift, • Manage opening and closing procedures, • Ensure health & safety and operational standards are consistently followed, • Identify and manage site maintenance issues, • Support effective communication between FOH and BOH, • Manage group booking enquiries and ensure larger bookings are delivered brilliantly, • Spot operational problems and take initiative to fix them Working Across Ria’s Although you'll be based in Soho, we're one Ria’s team. You'll work closely with the founders, Soho GM and management teams across both Soho and Notting Hill to: • Keep standards and ways of working aligned across both restaurants, • Share learnings, challenges and ideas between sites, • Align training and team development, • Help implement new menus, products, systems and initiatives, • Identify opportunities to improve the customer and team experience across Ria’s As a growing independent business, we want our managers to contribute to how Ria’s develops - not simply operate within an existing playbook. Who We're Looking For You might currently be an experienced Floor Manager, Senior Supervisor or Assistant Manager who's ready for more ownership. We're looking for someone who: • Has strong experience leading teams in a busy hospitality environment, • Is confident running a service and making decisions independently, • Leads from the floor and sets the standard through their own behaviour, • Has experience training, coaching and developing team members, • Is commercially minded and comfortable taking ownership of stock and operational targets, • Has exceptional attention to detail and genuinely cares about customer experience, • Communicates clearly and works well across FOH, BOH and senior management, • Takes initiative - if you see something that could be better, you're the kind of person who wants to improve it, • Loves hospitality, food and wine and wants to keep developing their knowledge Growing With Ria’s We're still a small, founder-led business meaning you'll work directly with the founders and senior team, have visibility across the business and be encouraged to contribute ideas and challenge how we do things. For someone ambitious, there is genuine opportunity to take on more responsibility as Ria’s grows. We have a clear management progression framework and will work with you on your individual development and next steps.

Job description: Residential Conveyancing Solicitor / Licensed Conveyancer Esca Staffing Solutions | Camden | £50,000 – £70,000 | Permanent Esca Staffing Solutions is working closely with a well-established, property-focused law firm in Camden to find their next great fee earner. Our client has been a fixture in the local market since the late 1980s — a firm of around 40 people, with a busy, close-knit conveyancing team of 14 at its heart. THE ROLE You'll be handling a solid day-to-day caseload of residential conveyancing — the focus of this role is firmly resi, though the firm does handle a small amount of commercial property, so a commercially aware mindset is a plus. This isn't a role where you're left to sink or swim — every fee earner has one-to-one paralegal support, post-completion work is handled entirely by a dedicated post-completion team, and a dedicated compliance team takes care of source of funds checks, so you're not chasing AML paperwork on top of your caseload. You focus on the case; they handle the admin. ABOUT YOU • Qualified Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer, 2+ years PQE, • Solid, practical residential conveyancing experience, • A clean SRA record — no history of regulatory issues, • Whether you've come from a high-volume conveyancing factory or a boutique firm, we're interested — what matters more is how you work and who you are, • A genuine personality. This team works hard, but they like each other, and they want someone who'll fit right in WHAT'S ON OFFER • £50,000 – £70,000, competitive with the market, • 25 days annual holiday, • Flexible working — typically 2 days in the office, 3 remote (with an initial settling-in period based in the office), • Genuinely uncapped progression — courses and qualifications funded. One current partner started at the firm as a secretary, • Steady, high-quality instructions through strong, established relationships with local estate agents — the firm rarely needs to advertise for work, • Business development is recognised and rewarded for those who want to build their own pipeline, • Realistic targets — most files bill at a minimum of £2,000 + VAT, with annual targets set around 3x salary THE TEAM & THE PLACE Camden is a great place to be based — buzzing, easy to get to, none of the soulless commute of somewhere like Canary Wharf. The team of 14 is known for being supportive and motivational, especially for people earlier in their careers — genuinely low turnover, with people staying long-term. INTERESTED? This is a confidential search being handled exclusively by Esca Staffing Solutions. Get in touch for a confidential conversation and full details on the firm. Benefits: • Casual dress, • Company events, • Company pension, • Transport links, • Work from home Experience: • Post Qualification: 2 years (preferred)

About us We’re the team behind Crudo and Tiny Wine, two independent hospitality concepts we’ve built in London over the past few years. Crudo opened in 2019 and has grown into a group of restaurants built around modern Latin American food, strong atmosphere and warm, energetic service. Tiny Wine came out of our love for smaller, more intimate drinking spaces, with a big focus on personality, curation and creating a place people genuinely want to spend time in. A big part of what we’ve learnt through both brands is that people come back for more than just the food or drinks. They come back for the feeling of the place, the team behind it, and the sense that something thoughtful is being built. Rocola Studio is the next step in that. It gives us the opportunity to create a more flexible space built around a changing programme of chefs, drinks, events and collaborations. A space that can evolve constantly, while still being run with a clear point of view and strong operational standards. We’re excited by the idea of building something that feels social, current and full of life. Somewhere guests want to return to regularly, and somewhere chefs and collaborators are genuinely excited to be part of.
