This is an opportunity for talented, high performing and ambitious Senior Manager to join the Corporate Reporting Advisory Team (CRT) in the Audit Quality Department (AQD) in an exciting period, to help to shape the role and the expanding team. You will report into the Team Partners and work closely with Directors. General responsibilities • Work with Managers, Senior Managers, Directors and Partners within both AQD, the Audit Stream and across the wider firm, • Maintain and encourage an open and constructive environment in which to provide technical accounting support and advice, • Bring pre-existing financial services specialist technical accounting knowledge (this might be Banking and Alternative Finance, Fintech or Insurance focused), and experience to the CRT team and contribute to all output areas, • Provide support and supervision to the more junior team members. Specific responsibilities The individual will support the CRT Directors and other members of AQD, ultimately reporting to the AQD lead partners and will be responsible for the following: • Technical review of a personal portfolio of annual reports of publicly traded and other higher risk companies, working with the audit team to confirm compliance with financial reporting standards, company legislation and regulatory requirements, • Providing clear and practical solutions to the most complex technical financial reporting queries, and act as a consultant for the more junior members of the team in your specialist area, • Preparing and presenting financial reporting training, updates and seminars both internally and externally, • Helping to develop financial reporting tools and guidance for application by the firm’s partners and staff, • Writing articles and other publications on financial reporting matters for internal and external communications, • Assisting with the preparation of draft responses to external consultations in relation to legal, regulatory and financial reporting matters, • Monitoring external developments in financial reporting areas and, specifically in your specialist area, reporting back to the team and developing an appropriate action plan where required, • Supporting and coaching the more junior members of the CRT and wider AQD team. The role would be particularly suited to an individual with experience of working within the technical department of another major firm of accountants, or an experienced auditor who is looking to move into a technical role and is able to demonstrate a strong technical aptitude. The right candidate for this role will: • Be ACA/ICAS qualified or overseas equivalent, • Be a Senior Manager in a technical team or have other relevant experience in technical financial reporting, • Exhibit a strong working knowledge of:, • IFRSs, UK GAAP, and the Companies Act, • Sector specialism for financial services, particularly Banking and Alternative Finance, Fintech or Insurance. The content requirements for the annual report of a company listed on either the Main Market or the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, • The wider financial reporting environment, including future developments in law, regulation and emerging areas, • Have practical experience of performing technical reviews of annual reports of listed companies, • Have a proven ability to apply technical knowledge to complex financial reporting issues and provide practical and supportable solutions, • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, and an ability to adapt as appropriate to the scenario, • Have an ability to create productive relationships across the firm and network and to influence other senior professionals, • Be willing to work as part of a close-knit team and as a self-directed individual, • Be highly motivated and proactive, with a desire to innovate and seek new ways of improving our service to internal customers. The core team currently comprises 4 partners, 2 managing associates (one of which is shortly going on maternity leave), 1 mid-level associate, 3 junior associates, a trainee, and a solicitor apprentice/paralegal. This role is predominantly a pensions disputes focused role, with the opportunity to work on other types of disputes should capacity and available cases permit. The team works closely with other lawyers in the pensions advisory, private wealth, insolvency, regulatory, and commercial litigation practices, some of which are also deeply involved in the team's matters (as well as working with the rest of the firm's complimentary practices). The team handles various kinds of disputes arising from pensions schemes, with particular aptitude in achieving results in alternative dispute resolution and mediations. Associates work on professional negligence claims, rectification/construction claims, part 8 & part 7 claims, judicial review/public law issues, contract disputes, international disputes, disputes concerning scheme funding, RPI/CPI matters etc. Compared to some pensions disputes practices, the team has a broad spread of work, with associates exposed to various types of disputes concerning pension schemes. The team has acted in many of the leading cases in the industry and before the highest courts. The team's clients range from pension scheme trustees to sponsoring employers; from multi-nationals and banks to charities and not-for-profits; from actuaries and scheme administrators to lawyers and documentation providers. The team, collectively and individually, have been highly recognised or top-ranked in Legal 500 and Chambers directories. Job Description Escrow - Business Compliance Analyst Location: London Department: AML / KYC Job Type: Permanent, Hybrid Hours: 37.5 hours per week CSC is a leading provider of escrow and settlement services on M&A and real estate transactions and litigation proceedings. The Escrow Business Compliance Analyst is responsible for assisting with the client onboarding of escrow deals in conjunction with other teams at CSC. The Business Compliance Analyst will liaise closely with other transaction parties during the setup of the transaction and manage the setup of the transaction file. They will be responsible for working with the clients to collate all correct KYC information, working with Group Compliance to ensure it is input into relevant databases and all necessary approvals received prior to the deal closing. Overview We’re looking for an experienced Product Governance Analyst to join our UK Retail team on a fixed-term basis, helping ensure our insurance products remain compliant, customer-focused, and aligned with regulatory standards, particularly under the FCA’s Consumer Duty. This is an 18-month fixed term contract role, with the possibility to be extended based on business needs. We are happy to consider candidates on a remote basis, with travel once a month into a local Gallagher branch. How You'll Make An Impact • Conduct comprehensive analysis of our product portfolio to ensure adherence to the highest levels of consumer protection., • Work as part of the Product Governance team to ensure business units are compliant in respect of New Product development and Existing Product changes., • Assist with identification and implementation of Product Governance controls and ensure our processes and best practice are appropriately documented., • Be integral to the Product Review process at Gallagher Retail, ensuring Product Assessments are completed annually or as required, and all products go through regular risk reviews., • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Compliance, and Product Development, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements., • Develop and implement product governance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to Consumer Duty regulations., • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes related to customer duty of care and provide recommendations for necessary adjustments to our product offerings., • Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of our product governance framework., • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that customer feedback and complaints are appropriately addressed and incorporated into product governance processes., • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on customer duty of care regulations and best practices., • Preparation of materials and delivery of presentations to internal stakeholders, • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in Consumer Duty and other relevant regulatory obligations to continuously improve our product governance framework.
