What's on Offer £40,000- £45,000 per annum (depending on experience) 5-hour week , flexible start and finish times Based in Huddersfield , with great motorway links - easily commutable from Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Wakefield, Sheffield, and Manchester 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) Access to healthcare options 8% employer pension contribution A role with real opportunity to develop, progress, and grow your career A friendly, cross-functional team environment where your work is valued What You'll Be Doing As a Commercial Officer , you'll be involved in the full bid-to-contract process - from preparing detailed cost estimates and reviewing customer specs to supporting order processing and export compliance. You'll work closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Project teams to ensure customer expectations are met and commercial risks are managed. Day to day, you'll: Prepare accurate cost estimates and lead the submission of quotations Review and critique customer specifications and contract terms Liaise with Purchasing and Manufacturing to confirm lead times and capacity Interpret customer requirements and provide commercial support across teams Process orders through our SAP system Support our external sales managers with timely, accurate information Help improve internal commercial processes and tools Contribute to programme delivery teams to ensure commitments are met This Role Could Be a Great Fit If You Have: At least 2 years' experience in a tender, proposal, applications or commercial, contracts, or bids/tendering role Strong organisational and communication skills Experience reviewing contracts, terms & conditions, or customer specifications preferred but not essential as training can be given A background in tendering engineering , proposal engineering , or applications engineering Working knowledge of costing methods, estimates, and quoting processes Confident in using SAP , CRM systems , and Microsoft Office A customer-focused mindset and the ability to work across departments Bonus Points For: Proven experience working within tendering, proposals, applications or Contract Review roles in Engineering or Manufacturing Who You'll Work With You'll report into the Head of Commercial , and collaborate closely with Sales , Engineering , Procurement , and Programme Delivery teams. It's a varied role that brings technical understanding and commercial decision-making together.
