As part of the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund we are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Social Worker to work within our Children’s & Families Fieldwork Team. You will be part of a team and culture that is committed to improving outcomes for the children and young people we work with. Your role will be based around early intervention and response to wellbeing concerns, including providing professional advice and guidance to education colleagues, individuals, families, and groups within the community. Within term time you will be linked with a local secondary school and associated primary schools at a point of transition. The post requires good assessment skills and ability to engage with children, young people and their families in stressful times. A sound knowledge of policy and legislation is essential and an understanding of assessment of needs and effective interventions. The Social Worker will work in partnership with other agencies, in particular youth development workers and Local Area Co-ordinators to meet the needs of children and their families. This post is likely to include development of community based group work within the priorities of the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund. You should have excellent written skills which need to be of a high standard and excellent verbal skills to ensure appropriate representation at meetings You should be able to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds in order to help them get the best from East Dunbartonshire Social Work Department.
