We’re on the search for a highly motivated Lean Manufacturing Operative apprentice to join our Production team in York. As a Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprentice at Portakabin, you will be based at our Head Office in York. Your remit will be to contribute to the manufacture and preparation of Portakabin buildings in line with Health & Safety requirements and working in line with standard operating procedures. The role ensures products meet quality standards, technical specifications, and customer expectations, while supporting efficient production flow and helping the team achieve operational targets. Your two year Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship will be delivered through a blended learning approach, supported by our learning provider, NC Group. Our apprenticeship has been designed to support you at every stage of your development, and throughout the programme you will be stretched, challenged and fully supported by a business that is committed to your professional growth. Role Details: • Salary - £7.79 (first year), • Role based: Head Office, York, YO32 9PT, • Contract type: Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 4:30pm and Friday from 7:30am to 12:30pm., • Annual leave of 24 days annual leave + bank holidays, • Work as part of the manufacturing team to achieve the daily, weekly, monthly and annual KPIs., • Support the Cell Leader by working as part of the team to manage work flow and maintain operational outputs and ensure that targets are met., • Assist with technical issues, writing and managing Risk Assessments, SOP’s and actively support H&S, • To identify and contribute towards continuous improvement activities and initiatives, • Identify and monitor training needs for yourself and any gaps in the team, • Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed to schedule and quality is maintained e.eg ISO 9001 & 14001 are adhered to, • Ensure compliance with all legislation, codes of practice, industry guidelines.
