Event Technician (Vision Engineer)\n\nLocation: Manchester (Office, Warehouse, Site & Field Based)\nSalary: £30,000 - £37,500 per annum\nHours: 9:00am – 5:00pm (42.5 hours per week)\n\nOverview\n\nWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Event Technician (Vision Engineer) to join our growing technical team based in Manchester. Working across a diverse portfolio of corporate, commercial and private events, you will be responsible for the preparation, installation, operation and maintenance of professional vision systems for live, virtual and hybrid productions.\n\nThis is a varied and hands-on role that combines warehouse preparation, technical planning and onsite event delivery. You will work with a wide range of technologies including LED displays, projection systems, presentation switchers, screen management systems, video playback solutions and live streaming platforms to deliver exceptional event experiences.\n\nAs part of a department of 17 technicians, supported by a dedicated scheduling team, you will play a key role in projects ranging from small-scale productions through to major events with budgets exceeding £1 million. The role offers the opportunity to lead freelance crews, contribute to the development of the Vision department and work alongside some of the industry's latest technologies. Flexibility is essential, as the position will involve travel throughout the UK and occasional evening and weekend work in line with event schedules.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nRig, configure and operate vision systems for a wide variety of live, virtual and hybrid events, ensuring the highest standards of technical delivery and client satisfaction.\n\nWork collaboratively with internal teams whilst leading and supervising freelance crew onsite, representing the company professionally at all times.\n\nCommunicate effectively with clients, suppliers, venue staff and production crews during the planning and delivery of events.\n\nPrepare, maintain, test and troubleshoot vision equipment within warehouse facilities, ensuring equipment is presented and maintained to the highest standard.\n\nSupport the Head of Vision in developing, maintaining and continuously improving the Vision department, processes and technical capabilities.\n\nManage equipment logistics, including deliveries and collections using company vehicles, whilst assisting other technical departments when required to support business needs.\n\nEssential Requirements\n\nMinimum 2 years' experience as a Vision Engineer within the live events industry, ideally within the corporate events sector.\n\nExtensive knowledge and practical live event experience using Barco Event Master screen management systems.\n\nKnowledge and operational experience of professional presentation switchers and video routing systems.\n\nExperience working with modular LED display systems and associated processing technologies.\n\nKnowledge and operational experience of Panasonic projection systems.\n\nExtensive experience using presentation and video playback software within live event environments.\n\nKnowledge and practical experience delivering live streamed events and video communication solutions.\n\nExcellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.\n\nHigh standard of personal presentation and professionalism.\n\nAbility to perform effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.\n\nFlexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, overnight stays and travel when required.\n\nHighly self-motivated with the ability to lead by example and take ownership of projects.\n\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining equipment to the highest presentation standards.\n\nFull UK Driving Licence.\n\nBenefits\n\nCore Benefits\n\n33 days annual leave (including bank holidays).\n\nAdditional birthday day off after 3 years' continuous service.\n\nAdditional annual leave day after 5 years' continuous service.\n\nCompany pension scheme.\n\nStaff recognition programme.\n\nFree on-site parking.\n\nCompany social events.\n\nAdditional Benefits (Following Successful Probation)\n\nAward-winning healthcare package including private medical treatment, mental health support, GP access and more.\n\nDental, optical and audiology cover.\n\nEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP).\n\nCompany sick pay scheme.\n\nEnhanced maternity, paternity and shared parental pay.\n\nLong service rewards.\n\nCycle to Work scheme.\n\nElectric Vehicle scheme.\n\nIf you are passionate about live events, enjoy working with cutting-edge video technology and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you - If interested please contact Rebecca Barnes-Hudson – – (phone number removed)\n\nSER-IN
