This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new Children’s Residential Home and help shape its culture, values, and day-to-day practice. You will play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and inspiring environment where children and young people can thrive. We are looking for a passionate and experienced leader with strong management skills, devoted to providing exceptional care and support to children aged 11–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). As the Registered Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the home meets all its registration conditions and achieves compliance with the relevant regulations. You will demonstrate effective knowledge and understanding of the application of regulations, best practice, safeguarding, and the skills to manage the smooth running of the home. As the Registered Manager, you are the key individual in upholding the organisation’s values. You will be a strong, visible, and inspirational leader for both the children and young people and the team. You will work in partnership with all stakeholders to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. You will have budgetary responsibility for your home and establish robust quality assurance processes to ensure strict adherence to all relevant legislation and good governance. Overall Responsibilities: • The role of a Registered Manager is the person with overall responsibility for day-to-day management of the Children’s Home, • Accountable for the delivery of a high quality of service provision, incorporating care, welfare, safety and security of all children and young people to achieve a secure base., • Supporting, leading and managing a team of staff who will provide protection and support the children with their physical, psychological, emotional & social development., • Responsible for keeping an up-to-date register of all children and young people being admitted/transitioned to another provision and discharged from the service., • Ensure operational staffing levels are maintained within the home., • Ensure that you and your staff work in accordance with the Statement of Purpose and Function of the home., • To have a working knowledge of Ofsted Inspection guidelines, promptly implementing any recommendations following an Inspection., • Timely notification of any significant events or changes within the home, including completion of Regulation 44/45 Reports within the given timeframe as instructed by the regulations., • To ensure that you and your staff team implement and adhere to the companies Safeguarding Policy and Local Authority Safeguarding procedures., • Efficiently manage the day to day running of the home and the services provided., • Allocate resources and monitor performance to ensure high quality service delivery to children and young people within the allocated budget., • Manage all aspects of the staff team and provide sound leadership and guidance to ensure staff have a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities and have the support they need to carry out their roles safely and effectively., • Maintain full and accurate records and reporting systems in accordance with legal requirements, to ensure the effective running of the home., • Implement quality management and improvement systems., • Always adhere to the Policies and Procedures of the organization., • Effectively manage complaints, compliments and any significant incidences, undertaking investigations as required, using findings to make continuous service improvements., • Be prepared to work flexibly to ensure the safe delivery of the service., • Operate systems for collecting key performance data for the Service., • Keep all information about children and young people secure and confidential., • Identify and manage service challenges, developing action plans as required, to resolve issues identified within agreed timescales., staying informed about any emerging practices and trends in the care sector Key Tasks: • Manage the effective recruitment, induction and training of the staff team., • Implement the organisation’s policy and procedures in relation to managing absence, disciplinary, capability and grievance matters, • Provide information, guidance and ongoing supervision to enable staff to effectively and safely carry out their roles. Carry out appraisals and monitoring of staff performance., • Participate in the growth and development of the home in partnership/alongside the Responsible Individual to achieve occupancy targets and deliver within budget., • To attend external meetings, representing the home/organisation in a positive and professional manner., • Identify ongoing training needs and ensure staff are up to date with current best practice., • Maintain training records for all staff, that evidence compliance with training requirements., • Plan and implement sufficient staff, in number and skill mix, to meet service needs., • Maintain continuous professional development and attend training to support this., • Develop and maintain a network of contacts relevant to the home., • Report immediately to the Responsible Individual any issues identified which could bring the Charity into disrepute., • Ensure all information of a confidential nature is not divulged to third parties., • Ensure the security of your work location is always maintained., • Ensure full compliance with contracts, including any requirements to achieve quality related payments., • Maintain an effective system for the management of the home’s, • Maintain good working relationships with staff, management colleagues, visitors, parents, visiting professionals, commissioners and the registration and regulation body.
